Daily MelWear: Paparazzi

Lady Gaga is playing on the radio right now.  I couldn't come up with a title for today's post, so I stole her song title.

Lack of creativity much? Eh.

Thank you all so much for your sweet comments, for stickin' with me through the ick-ness and through the practically duplicate outfits.  I was amused by that.  Clearly I like printed skirts and purple tops. Has anyone else done that, blatently copied themselves? Please tell me I'm not the only one.

So today is a new day and I'm feeling lots better! Still a little tired, still feel warm all the time when I'm usually complaining it's cold, still a little sore in the neck/shoulder area BUT - I'm not nauseous, my head doesn't hurt, my body doesn't ache and tomorrow is FRIDAY!

Whee!!!

Plus I had a little extra time this morning and was able to grab a cup of coffee before I left the house. I have more caffeine in me than I usually do when I write. Can you tell?

I've worn this dress a lot.  I found it in my closet a few months ago; it was my mom's. She gave it to me when I was pregnant because it was just a little too small for her and she figured it would fit me.  Well, it was too small for me too but I hung on to it.  Not sure why, because it didn't fit me after I had my daughter either but now...NOW I'm glad I kept it.  I've gotten a lot of use out of it! And I have some fall remixing ideas for this dress too.

I do think I need a solid yellow belt, though.  I'm not really enjoying the yellow/orange combo in this one.

Not like we really have a fall in Florida.  The changing color of leaves doesn't really happen.  They go from green to dead brown and then back to green again. *sigh* I still love Florida.  I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

So how has your week been going?  Got any big plans for Friday?

Today's outfit:

Dress: My mom

Black Cardigan: Kohl's

Yellow/Orange Belt: Salvation Army

Black Bow Pumps: Wal-Mart

Black Necklace: Wal-Mart

  1. I love the belted cardigan look. I don't ever think I can pull it off well, but it looks great on you. Glad you're feeling better too!

  3. I think it's perfectly fine to copy yourself, or others for that matter! It's so funny how blogging changes how we get dressed and how we see things! Once you see things back to back on your blog you start noticing patterns, shapes, and color combinations that you're drawn to that you may not have realized otherwise in your wardrobe! That's one reason I love fashion blogs so much :)

Anyway, love today's dress! The colors and print are so fun and pretty! The belted cardi is such a flattering look on you, I love it.

  4. I'm going to see Lady Gaga next month in Raleigh! WOOHOO!!! (also, too much caffeine!) I really love wrap dresses. I have a few and they make me feel veeerrrry pretty. :) This color combo is great on you, and I like the print and double colors on the belt. I also agree that a solid yellow belt would be great. If you find one, let me know!

  5. I am pretty sure that dress is from NY*CO- I have a purple one that is solid, but same silhouette. I think it's from fall 2007!

You look cute! I'm glad you're feeling better!

  6. The dress is very pretty in terms of color and pattern. Your mom did a great job picking and you did a great job putting it together to reflect your style.

Melissa: when you have a min, please shoot me a quick email with your address (under my profile). I decided to send gift to more than 4 people because I appreciate you sharing a thoughtful story. I just can't find your contact info.

  7. I'm loving the yellow belt. I read the post you left on my blog. You have so much dedication. I would just skip working out if it meant I had to get up at 4:30. You are amazing.

  12. I like how the yellow just pops against the cool colors of this outfit. It's really a pretty combination on you.

And yep, I blatantly copy old outfits that I've done. Why break the formula sometimes when it's what you love to wear?

  14. You look so beautiful, well-rested and refreshed. So glad to hear that you're feeling better.

Don't you love discovering clothes from long ago? I bought a dress in college that was a little too small, but I hung onto it nevertheless. Now it fits and I'm so glad I kept it!

FYI - I posted a little giveaway on my blog. I'm giving away a gift card and a bracelet that would probably work perfectly with your dress : )

  15. I'm on board with everyone else, that dress is just darling! I love a bright print.
Also I'm totally guilty of copy myself. I even link back to it when I do lol

  16. I love the polka dots on your dress - you and your mom have great taste :)

One of the reason I like "real" fashion blogs is seeing how people remix and rewear their wardrobe. This inspires me to remix my own rather than go buy more more more. So thanks for showing that it's ok to wear the same things again!

  17. Thanks ladies! Megan, Andie posted a comment that it's similar to one from NY&Co...but to be honest, right at this particular second, I'm sitting on my couch and am too lazy to get up and look. :) Let's go with Andie's comment and say it's from NY&Co!
