One week down, three more to go! And I really only have a few more outfits in mind. This could get interesting.
I ended up not having time to fiddle with the camera at all this weekend, but I did take some shots with and without the flash. I think yesterday's post makes me think that the iPhone photos are better (those are the ones in the collages) because they're just so much more vibrant and detailed, probably because the camera shots are using the timer. Maybe I just need a better camera. All in good time...
I don't have a whole lot to say so let's get started with Fabulous in February: A Month of Positivity! Hope and I were emailing a couple of weeks ago about how easy it is for us to be critical of ourselves yet it's so difficult to give ourselves any compliments. We decided that since February is the month of loooooove, we should make an effort to love ourselves a little bit better than we do now.
Our challenge to all of you (including those of you who don't have a blog!) is to come up with three positive statements about YOURSELF (not about things that you have - it's awesome to be grateful that you have a house and great friends, but this is to be positive about WHO and WHAT you are) and post them either in your blog post or in the comments on either of our posts. We're going to do this every Monday in February!
So here are my three positive things for the first edition:
1. I really do like the fact that I can sing. I get paid to sing sometimes. My daughter asks me to sing to her and I've been asked to sing at weddings.
2. My hair is pretty. It's always been one of my best features, whether I'm happy with how it's styled or not, it's still healthy and shiny and pretty.
3. I'm short. And I like being short. I'm comfortable with my height and I don't find it necessary to dress in a way that makes me look taller. Taller for me isn't necessarily more attractive. I don't think being short is unattractive and it doesn't need to be camoflouged. Height (or lack thereof) doesn't have anything to do with being attractive in my opinion.
That's it, three things for this Monday! I'll have to do some thinking for three more things next week.
And HEY! I'm posting a giveaway later today! I'm very excited, you're going to LOVE this new sponsor!
Don't forget to link up your Fabulous in February posts!!! Here's hoping my link tool goes through correctly... :)

I love Fabulous is February!! I have been thinking about it all day!
ReplyDeleteThat top is such a rich gorgeous color! And your accessories are always spot on :) You're doing so well in the challenge!
ReplyDeleteI love the fabulous in February idea! You should be proud that you can sing - I wiiish I could! And how awesome that you embrace being shorter, and you hair is just beautiful :)
I don't know if I'll get around to posting an outfit today so I'll leave my 3 here in your comments.
1. Like you, I embrace my short stature. It's always been easy to find guys taller than me, something about being shorter makes me feel feminine and petite, and skirts are almost never too short on me!
2.I like that I have a lot of compassion for others, and for animals. I've seen people who struggle with caring for strangers and I am so grateful that I can give love freely.
3. I like my hair. I haven't always liked it but I have grown to. I've never had to dye it which has been really nice!
I love how you've styled that top. I love the Fabulous in February idea as well. I wish I was a good singer! I am short though, and I agree it's pretty awesome.
ReplyDeleteVery brilliant idea. What a strong world it would be if everyone would focus on their own strengths and those of others!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that height doesn't play into attractiveness! :) I think you look beautiful today. Thanks for putting together a great series.
ReplyDeleteYour blouse is such a great color. It's funny how different lighting or a difffernt camera can make colors look more or less vivid. I have that trouble all of the time!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the blue! Thanks for the Fab in Feb! My post it up! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteLove your purple top and your month of positivity challenge, such a great idea!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see so many wonderful ladies participating!!
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful. And you do have fabulously gorgeous hair! Sooo wish I could sing. But it tends to make people angry.
ReplyDeleteWonderful idea! Love the Fab in February. A sense of humor goes a long way!
ReplyDeleteSo, you are the brilliant mind behind this? That's fantastic babe, I love this idea! Hmn... 3 things about me, I don't know what to say!

ReplyDeleteDid you try standing closer to the wall and then focusing on the wall before you set the timer and run over?
