So I guess everyone was really surprised by the strict dress code here, huh? I can only hope and pray that my boss continues to be lenient, because the day that she says we're going to have to start adhering to the code fully, I will cry. A lot. Let's hope that doesn't happen.
I don't really feel like the pictures with the camera are getting any better. This morning I asked my mom to take them for me but she's so used to taking pictures with her cell phone that she's completely forgotten how to use a camera. I had to show her how to hold it and zoom and everything. Maybe I should try putting it on the tripod and only having her snap the picture. Oh I don't know. I just want to save up my pennies for a REALLY nice camera with a remote.
Unless someone wants to send me a camera and remote as a Valentine's gift. I'd be very grateful. {Can't hurt to just throw that out there, right?}
Anyone?
No?
Have a great Wednesday, everyone!

You look STUNNING! I love the ruffles and the subtle animal print. You look great. Thank God for lenient bosses!
ReplyDeleteLook how cute you look--and this is almost code! Such a polished and professional outfit--I love all the subtle details.
ReplyDeleteLove the subtle pops of color. The shoes look great! And surely this is "in code"?? :)
ReplyDeleteOk, this has got to be at least CLOSE to the dress code! Maybe the skirts an inch or two too short and the tights are the wrong colour, but I think this would be a good starting point on how to do the insane dress code fashionably! I love how covered, yet sexy the outfit is!
ReplyDeleteI always like leopard and red together.
ReplyDeletei love the ruffly top and those shoes are so fun!
ReplyDeletecute and little
come join the color brigade!
Love it! So sleek.
ReplyDeleteListen. At this point I think it's probably the light. My pics would look about like that if I took them indoors. I'm not an expert though! <3
Great ruffles and red belt!
ReplyDeleteHi Melissa. This is a really silly question--how can I follow your blog? I don't see Google Friend Connect on your site.
ReplyDeleteWOW, look at those shoes! And man, I am with you -- if your boss becomes more strict about the dress code, I'll be sad too to see your fun outfits go!
ReplyDeleteI am absolutely no photoraphy expert by any means but like you I am always taking my own photos an unfortunate lighting. I use a tripod (no remote) with a timer setting on the camera). I first take couple test shots at slightly different locations angles to see what spot has the best lighting. And if possible I always take the photos outside just better lighting that way. Yes, the neighbors look at me funny sometimes but who cares.
ReplyDeleteI like your red belt and the ruffle front shirt.
You look polished and classic today...this should fall well within your dress code, no?
ReplyDeleteTaking indoor photos can be tricky, no matter what camera you have. When I have to take outfit photos inside, I do my best to turn on as many lights as possible in order to avoid using the flash.
Great post, as always, and love the earrings!
ReplyDeleteOh, and the cupcakes were fabulous, but are leaving my house very soon. :( Now we can both be jealous.
ReplyDeleteHey fellow remixer- what a great outfit! I especially love the thrifted skirt- yay for bargains! xo Emily
ReplyDeleteP.S. Are those heels by Andrew Gellar? I have an identical looking pair in grey with the same strap and colour fading! Hmm...
ReplyDeleteI love the ruffles on that top! This may sound weird but you have nice legs lady! I am glad your boss turns a blind eye to the dress code and lets you be 'you'!
ReplyDeleteA very classic look! You look so hot in this! Hopefully you'll get a good camera soon. I'm still hoping to find one myself.
ReplyDeleteI always think you look so polished and professional I was surprised you were dressing "out of code".
ReplyDeleteYou probably provide your boss with some eye-relief from everyone else in their black sack dresses and sensible pumps. I'm kidding - it's probably not that bad. . . right?
I love the earrings, and I'm a big fan of the red belt/shoes combo. You look great :)
ReplyDeleteMy sis got me a tripod/remote for my camera for my birthday, but I haven't had time to play with them yet. I'm very concerned that my pictures will still turn out terrible, and I will have to admit that I am just a very bad picture-taker since I won't be able to blame it on my equipment any longer...
Loving the sweet details of your outfit! Very thoughtful and chic :) Love your blog btw!
ReplyDeleteruffles...love them!! Love how you styled them with that great skirt and the fun red accessories!!
ReplyDeleteLoved the print on the skirt, elegant but with and edgy twist! Shoes match so perfectly!

I love the ruffles and those shoes are to die for! Maybe a tripod and more light? They are pretty good as they are so maybe just more practise?
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh- LOVE these shoes! They would be so versatile! The ruffles really add a lot to this, I really like it! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the belt and the ruffles on the top! Looks great!
ReplyDeleteI love that top! The whole outfit is amazing. I think it's a perfect outfit for work, and hopefully your boss agrees! That's seriously the craziest dress code I've ever heard of.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this outfit!! All of the details are so beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit....code or not!!!! You look great!

Love the detail on your top!
ReplyDeleteI love this whole look. Your choice of accessories is great as usual. Dress codes can indeed be an annoyance sometimes...there should be a blanket rule in all offices that bloggers are exempt from them : )
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the black ruffled top, and your fun earrings!
ReplyDeleteLove the ruffle details on your top.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute outfit!! I love it! And the shoes are so freaking fabulous too!! You have some really great shoes, you know that! And I love the skirt and the belt too! Adorable! And I totally hope you never have to strictly follow that dress code! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my site. Yes - I love the shoes - they are killer. I wish I would have purchased the black ones, too. I love the blouse and earrings! They sort of mirror each other... so cute! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteHOLY MOTHER OF I'm the 37th COMMENTER! Jeepers, lady! You're famous!!! And I love, love, love this outfit with the skinny red belt! And your RUFFLIES!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt takes a bit to get the hang of a new camera. I'm just now kind figuring out my new DSLR, and I got it for Christmas. What kind of camera did you get? Maybe I can help you out.
ReplyDeleteNo Guilt Fashion
Those shoes are beautiful! The color change makes them special. Love how they add color without affecting the overall look you have going.
ReplyDeletei'm so glad you posted all the detail shots, this outfit is awesome!! you look SOOO GOOD!!

What time do you generally take your pictures? Have you tried opening up those blinds and taking them with you opposite them? Or even stepping outside? that helps a bunch!
ReplyDeleteanyway cute ruffles!
Oh my, those red shoes are AWESOME! How annoying about the dress code but at least you aren't wearing a boring uniform! I would like a fancy new camera and remote too so if you get a spare then pass it on! hehe ;)
ReplyDeleteyou're doing such a good job at remixing! and ruffles are a girl's best friend =)

I really like the black with a pop of red.
ReplyDeleteI love your top. I need to save my money for a new laptop and Carma.
ReplyDeleteSince my laptop broke last week but it fix now I'm afraid to do much on it. One good thing that came out of it is I'm not on the computer as much.
