Now, I don't normally wear a lot of rings (actually, I don't wear any - I need some cute rings!) but I suppose I should figure out how to dress "professionally" in her eyes while still maintaining a sense of my own personal style.
That's for tomorrow's episode. Stay tuned to see if I pass or fail. :)
As for today, this is one of my most favorite outfits, ever! I've mentioned this dress before but it bears repeating: it really is perfection! It's just the perfect blank slate and the dark purple goes with so many different colors. Today I wanted to wear the leopard scarf so I kept all the accessories in the gray/black arena. It's comfortable, stylish, modest and office-appropriate.
I will admit, however, that the shoes are already off. They're super cute, but man do they hurt! At least my new office is relaxed enough that I can take my shoes off (as long as there aren't any guests here!).
UPDATES:
*My boss didn't say anything about the neckline of my dress on Monday (some of you asked, I'm sorry I forgot to mention that in yesterday's post!).
*My grandmother is out of the hospital (she got out the day before Thanksgiving) and is in a rehab facility. She's doing much better and should be released to go home soon!
*I'm loving my new job! Still waiting for access to certain programs but I'm learning more and the environment is SO nice. My co-workers and my boss are great!
*Things are good at home, I have doors on my room now (but with windows in them, so I need to buy some blinds or curtains soon), my baby girl seems to be adjusting well to the change, I still miss her like CRAZY when I'm not with her but I know she's always loved and cared for.

I love how you took the scarf and made a whole outfit with it!! Beautiful! I am glad your new job is going well and that life seems on the up and up!
ReplyDeletePhew! Every morning when I read your posts I worry that things AREN'T going well and you just don't want to say it, so it's a relief to hear they are! And I think it's rather suitable that your new doors have windows, given the adage that when God closes a door he opens a window! Instead of blinds, you could always install hooks or a rod over it, and store your scarves there!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm eager to see how you do tomorrow! You look great today (and always!) but I love seeing how people dress for more formal affairs. Can I suggest a pencil skirt? That's my professional "go to" piece.
You look so nice and professional. I love that scarf. I'm glad to hear that things are looking up for you :)
ReplyDelete(BTW 64 is hot summer day here he he)
Great layering! And I am so glad to hear about your grandmother and that she is doing better. I am also happy to hear your daughter is adjusting. Kids are amazing! So are you!

ReplyDeleteIt is so cool the way you wore that animal print scarf my dear!

What an adorable belt! And I love your leopard print scarf -- so fun. It's a shame that those heels aren't more comfortable because they are really killer.
ReplyDeleteIt's supposed to get a bit cooler here, as well. I'm not looking forward to that!

Very Cute Outfit!! I saw on your last post that you were going to buy cami's in every color. Try Forever 21 or Wet Seal for really cheap (good) ones! Good Luck on your new job!
ReplyDeleteLove your outfit. The scarf looks great!
ReplyDeleteWoke up in the UK this morning to loads of snow! Would love some of your hot weather. I suppose the only benefit is making snow men instead of work!
Hope all goes well with the 'big wig' meeting. I love it that they told you not to wear lots of rings.
Love this outfit..you look really great. I really like the gray jacket!
ReplyDeleteSomehow I missed this post, but oh my goodness I'm glad I found it because this is one of my favorite outfits of yours yet!
ReplyDeleteGrey, leopard, an adorable jacket, and a bow!? Couldn't be more perfect :)
Cute! :)
ReplyDeleteOK I super like this scarf and how you belted it. I have seen a million bloggers belt their scarves and I just never liked it. I love this. It almost makes me want to give belting a try. I'm not exactly sure what you did differently, but it is awesome.
