Daily MelWear: BBCA Oct. 1

Happy Friday, everyone!

Welcome to October, and the first day of the Blogging for Breast Cancer aWEARness Challenge!

This is a challenge for me because I don't really have a ton of pink in my closet.  I've shunned it for most of my life but embraced it once I had my daughter.  Can't really get away from pink with a little girl in the house. :) I'm planning to go shopping this weekend (probably at the Salvation Army store, Wal-Mart and/or Ross) with some cash we made from selling our old video camera.

So here is my first outfit for the challenge: the only pink is in the flowers in the skirt.  I've had this outfit in mind for a while but for some reason just hadn't put it together yet. I wasn't too sure about this tank with the skirt at first, but then it started to untuck itself a little but naturally and I ended up kind of liking the blousy effect it makes, especially with the white belt added.  I was going to wear my yellow necklace and wedges but decided I wanted the pink to be the main color so I went with black and white accessories instead.

Remember when I mentioned receiving the flower earrings as a consolation prize from Ashley? Well this time I remembered to take a detail shot of them! Aren't they adorable?! Thanks again, Ashley!

I can't wait to see what everyone else is wearing for the challenge! For a list of participants, click here.

Hope you're all having a great day and have some fun plans for the weekend!

Pink/Black Floral Skirt: Salvation Army
Black Tank: Plato's Closet
White Belt: Kohl's (came with a dress)

  6. That skirt is so cute! I was anti-pink for a while too, but I've learned to embrace it. Although, I do usually stick to darker shades of pink so I'm not *too* girly.

  14. Great skirt! I wore pink Friday night, but it won't be posted until Monday. Also, I get to be a book character on Halloween for work, so I'm dressing as D.W. from Arthur. Pink dress, here I come! :) Hope everything is calming down, too. My life changed drastically in January and are only now are things starting to settle. Enjoy your weekend!
