Thanks so much for your encouraging comments yesterday. You guys are the best. You always leave uplifting and kind words for me and I appreciate every single one of you! Hopefully in a few weeks life will settle down so that I can reciprocate!

A few months ago, I never would have considered layering this shirt over this dress. This outfit, my friends, is a testament to the power of style blogging! I've learned so much and become much more creative through reading style blogs. There are so many inspirational bloggers out there and I'm grateful to have found them and become friends with many of them, as well as with some readers!
I realized that I've never taken a detail shot with the pattern of this dress, so I took one today. It's probably not the best quality but it'll work. I hope.
Okay, now for the life news. *Deep breaths*
Most of you know that I've had a lot going on lately. While I'm not able to get into details and I'm not quite ready to talk about it too much, I'll just tell you that today on Facebook, I've changed my relationship status from "married" to "single". When I move in with my parents next weekend on the 30th, it'll mark the beginning of a new chapter in my life as a single mom.
For any of you wondering, we are going to stay friends and have been spending a lot of time together lately to make sure our daughter knows that we're not abandoning her or each other. He's my best friend and he will always be my best friend - but this still breaks my heart into a million pieces. And before I start bawling uncontrollably, I'm just going to end here.
Today's outfit:
Black/Blue/Green Dress: From my mom
Pink Top: Target
Black Belt: Salvation Army
Black Mary Janes: Wal-Mart (I think...)Black Necklace: Wal-Mart
aw honey I'm sorry. You can always vent to me if you need an outside party. Hugs to the little one.

ReplyDeleteAs you already know, I am here for you, whatever you need.

ReplyDeleteOh Melissa, I'm so sorry you're having to go through this! It sounds like you really have your priorities straight, though, and it's good you are focusing on your daughter. Just know you've got a world of bloggers out there cheering for you and always wishing you the best.
ReplyDeleteYou can always email me if you need someone to talk to!
You look incredible. The layering is super genious and I'm proud of you for stepping out of the box. I'm not good at that... yet.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm proud of you for everything else. You're an amazing woman and an amazing mother. And you know that I'm ALWAYS here. always. always. always.
Aww. I'm sorry to hear that. Even if it's a totally necessary step for some reason, getting divorced still sucks. All I can say from my perspective ten years after the fact is that you will adjust and go on to do new and interesting things.
ReplyDeleteMelissa, it will all work out. You are so strong and have such a naturally positive personality and and outlook on life. I'll keep you in my thoughts as I know this is a really difficult time for you and your family.
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourself!
I am sorry you are going through so much! My heart goes out to you during this difficult time! Always know that we are all here for you! You are a strong beautiful and powerful woman, "this too shall pass"! I will be praying for you and your family!
ReplyDeleteLovely layering...
ReplyDeleteAs far as everything else, I am so sorry! You will be in my thoughts and prayers. You've got a lot of people who are supporting you!
The fact that you can even smile in your blog pictures during this is a testament to how strong of a person you can be - and sometimes smiling when you don't feel it can help to pick you up.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't think of "Single" as "alone", think of it as "independent"... but at the same time, know that there are many shoulders around you (both figuratively and literally) when you need a good cry!
I'm so sorry you have been going through all of this and that you're having a rough time. Lots of hugs!
ReplyDeleteIt always fun too try new ways to wear outfit. My say is you should have fun with your clothes.

ReplyDeleteAnd way to go on keeping BBCA going! I'm not much of a pink gal, but I think what you're doing is great and it's awesome to see such participation.
oh Melissa, I'm so sorry. this is heartbreaking, I can't even imagine what you're going through. You're strong, and you can get through this. I do firmly believe that things happen for a reason, even if we can't figure out what that reason is. It's important that you do what you feel is best for you and your daughter - it sounds like you are. Keep your chin up but don't underestimate the value of a good cry.
