I found this dress, which is actually a strapless 3-in-1 (apparently you can wear it two ways as a dress and also a third way as a skirt), at Ross several weeks ago. I feel like the black and grayish-tan pattern is very fall-ish (yes, that is now a word), but it's an extremely lightweight and breezy strapless dress. It's perfect for fall in Florida!
And, since I can't wear a strapless dress to work, I threw on a bright button-down shirt with a belt and called it a day.
Ashley had a giveaway a few weeks ago and I was the first person to comment on the post, noting that the first person really never wins. Honestly, those random number generator thingies ALWAYS pick a number BETWEEN the first and the last but they never pick the first or the last! I knew that but left the first comment anyway just to get her contest rolling. Well, Ashley, being the fabulous, stylish, sweet and gorgeous person that she is (seriously, have you checked out her blog yet? Do it!), decided to send me a consolation prize!!! I was super excited when I got her email and even more excited when I received her package in the mail! She sent me the prettiest pair of flower earrings from The Limited! I totally meant to take a detail shot of them this morning but my husband and I were rushing out the door for work and it slipped my mind. But I'm wearing them today, I love them and I'll try to take a detail photo next time.
Thanks for all of your comments on yesterday's post and the post with the professional photos. April is truly amazing! You guys make me smile every single day, have I mentioned that lately? There are days when I feel like I'm not good at this whole blogging thing at all, but reading your comments perk me up and make me happy. You guys are awesome. Thank you. :)

Wait...I actually just read your clothing description (imagine that) and see now that your top is RED! Lost in translation photography.
ReplyDeleteYou still look great in that color, too!
That IS the perfect dress for Autumn! It can be styled so many ways!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you like the earrings - I have a similar gold pair from Express that I wear ALL the time - I'm wearing them right now, actually!
ReplyDeleteLove that pop of red!! It almost makes the entire outfit! :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat fall-ish dress! Sorry about being glued to the phone!! Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteI love it all! It's just so pretty.
ReplyDeleteIsn't Ashley the sweetest? The earrings sound lovely. And that dress is perfect for the autumn, esp. with the rich burgundy. Love it!
ReplyDeleteBTW, the word verification below is "bootie." The computer must know that I have bad booties on the brain!
so pretty - I love that you were able to make a strapless dress work appropriate. I love pink with black/white!
ReplyDeleteYou look so pretty! That fuschia makes you look all glowy. Btw, i think you do a great blogging job. Sometimes I feel like I suck at blogging too but then I remind myself why I started it and how much it has helped me. Keep up the great work!!
ReplyDeleteThat dress is great! I love the belted shirt with it too! Definitely very fall-ish. Good luck with your day! :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous! Yes that's exactly what I had in mind. That print would be so at home in my closet lol! I even have a bunch of plaid waiting in the closet for cooler weather. I love the shiny blouse paired over it.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on winning!
Hopefully you'll be able to pace the phone calls and not get frazzled! Take it easy. ♥

I love dresses that can be worn multiple ways, it's like buying three dresses for the price of one. :) I am still trying to figure out how to wear blouses like a jacket/blazer that you pull off so well...for some reason I haven't quite figured out what I am doing wrong.
ReplyDeleteVery, very fun dress for the fall! The top makes it even better because you're throwing in one more gorgeous falling leaf color! I think this dress will be really pretty for winter as well. :) You look gorgeous, as always.
ReplyDeleteAnd someday... SOME DAY, I will beat you in WWF. For now, I raise the white flag! Sheesh! Just kidding. I'm not a quitter.
I love black, white and red combos! Looks great! Hope you had a lovely Tuesday :)
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I love that color combo and the dress is such a nice transitional piece!
ReplyDeleteAutumn sundresses are a must... just not this year... it's far too cold here, I'm right into winter wear!!
ReplyDeleteBut I do have a fall sundress: http://carascloset.blogspot.com/2010/02/my-knit-creation.html
