Daily MelWear: Black and Gray

Well.  I don't have much to say.

First I want to mention the October Challenge: Blogging for Breast Cancer aWEARness. If you're only able to do a week instead of the entire month, that's absolutely fine. If you aren't sure whether a certain shade of pink is acceptable, I leave that entirely up to your discretion. I don't have very many pink items either, but I'm going to try to wear things that would "go" with it so that I can just add pops of pink in my earrings or something like that. I'm going to post a list of participants as soon as I'm able (hopefully this week, since it starts on Friday, October 1st) so let me know if you're in.

Now let's talk about the reasons I picked this outfit.

1. This top is from the goody bag from Marilou! I love the ruffles at the top. This is a great skirt to dress up jeans (if I could wear those to work).
2. This bracelet is from Marilou too! Would you believe that I didn't even own a single bracelet? I had my watch, but that's about it. I love this bracelet! Especially the clasp detail.

3. We're doing a walk-through today at work of our new building. We're set to move in November.  Our instructions were to wear long pants and flat shoes.  This pair of pants is the only one I own that I can wear with flats. That didn't leave me much choice.
4. My plan is to wear the blazer all day, but when I got to work the air was broken and it was hot, so I took the blazer off. Now it seems to be cooling down so I can put the blazer back on which is great, because without it, this outfit seems a little too "night out" and less "office."
5. This color palette works for my mood today.  I have a cold, but can't stay home from work. I received some news that, to me, is earth-shattering and I'm still trying to process everything.

So yeah. Black and gray works. Now here are some pictures for you.

Today's outfit:
Gray Ruffled Shell: Gift from Marilou
Black Skinny Pants: From my mother-in-law
Black Blazer: Goodwill Boutique
Black Flats: Target
Pearl Bracelet: Gift from Marilou

  2. Oooh I absolutely love that ruffled top on you! go ML! ;)

And the skinny pants look great, they are really flattering!

  3. I like the cut of the pants on you (tapered and skinny)! I lean toward trouser and wide legged pants (which I think you do?) but sometimes a skinny or straight leg pant is just so perfect, especially with the right top.
I hope the "earth shattering news" isn't too awful...Take care...

  4. This is really cute! You really pop- instead of your clothes taking front and center. But, the top and the overall fit is very nice : )

I am also looking forward to the Breast Cancer aWEARness blogging challenge. I don't know if I'll be able to do the whole month but I sure will try.

I think it will be fun to watch your pink challenge - I would participate but I seriously think I own two pink items, and one of those has to be reserved for our breast cancer awareness day at work!

  12. i would love to participate in the breast cancer awareness challenge but since my pink are limited so I might just do it for a week instead of a month, but the challenge is a really great idea, my mom was a survivor so I will participate in honor of her and other survivors :)
