I hope you all had a great weekend. My family and I didn't do very much (read: saved money by staying home). It was nice!
Every time I wear this skirt, I think of a jungle. I adore this skirt. It's comfortable, so versatile it can be dressed up or down or even worn as a shirt (or a dress if I'm feeling really self-confident, but that has yet to happen) and it fits. That's always a plus.
As much as I'd like to change things up a little, I can't help wearing this pink necklace and earrings with this shirt. I just love the green and pink shades together. I really wish I had some pink heels though! Or a pink belt.
Or both.
How was your weekend?
Today's outfit:
Green Blouse: Kohl's
Brown Belt: Wal-Mart (um...from the little boys section. Don't judge.)
Brown Studded Heels: Wal-Mart
Pink Necklace/Earrings: Beya
Ooh, awesome skirt/top - I actually prefer it as a top, you look gorgeous in it with the white pants! How tropical chic!
ReplyDeleteSO cute Melissa!! I love your little jungle skirt.....and the accent on the necklace really makes the outfit *pop*...Happy you had a nice weekend....NOT spending money..is always a great thing:0
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday Doll:)

Wearing a skirt as a top? How creative! This is a super cute look too! I love that green top too! (And I won't judge, sometimes we all have to shop in the "wrong" department! ;) )
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful -- I love the mix of blues and greens. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit and I love low key weekends. I barely left the house at all this weekend and I realized the only money I spent was at the grocery store, which of course, will get me through the week. Woo-hoo for staying in and saving money!!!
ReplyDeleteCute!! I love the jungle motif! I will say that I am judging you for a getting a belt to fit that's in the boys section! Skinny!
ReplyDeleteLove the green. It's one of those colors that I don't pay much attention too, but it's been screaming my name as of late. I think I need some more green in my life, or at least in my closet :)
ReplyDeleteThe green looks great on you.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry - I buy belts in the little boys section too! There is even the odd time when I can pick up a pair of tights from the girl's section too! Mostly the footless kind... apparently my leg is longer than the average 10 year olds!
ReplyDeleteUnexpected pairings like these are strikingly beautiful! On the road again but I just want to wish you an Exciting Monday!

It sure reminds me of jungle. That is a fun and cute skirt Melissa.
ReplyDeletethe colors on the skirt and blouse absolutely pop. You make me feel like I'm missing something from not being a regular at Kohls. You have some good finds from there
ReplyDeleteI love this shirt, I rarely see this shade of vibrant green irl but I just love it. My goal for the fall is to wear more green. Thumbs up for a great outfit!
ReplyDeleteOMG I love the colors in this. You look so gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteMy brown belt with the silvery buckle is a little boys belt. It fits perfectly for a waist belt. Being super-tiny makes it hard to find non-stretch waist belts. Hey, you make do.
That's such a lovely blouse! The material looks very luxurious. The pink necklace really pop :).
ReplyDeleteHow adorable! I love the top! What a fun blog you have!
ReplyDeletep.s. I am having an Ann Taylor Loft giveaway if it interests you! xo
Great skirt. I can see why you like it, the colours are so pretty
ReplyDeleteLOL - that's cool you found a belt in the little boys section.... good idea.. especially if it's on sale! :)

I love that you got the belt in the little boys secti on at WalMart.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great skirt - such a pretty, bold pattern. You look great!
Love the blue & green combo, those colors are so great together!
ReplyDeleteHey, little boys are skinny - no judgements. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHaha, you're already thinking of ways you could (easily) spend the money you saved. That's what I'd do. *whistles*
By the way, if you don't mind the invite, I've made a group for bloggers who take ensemble photos:

I'd love it if you'd be the 2nd member (I JUST created it). :-D Anyone's welcome though!!!
Thanks everyone! I really like how this one turned out.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one who's ever shopped in the little boys (or girls!) department. I kind of wish I could fit into more of those sizes because seriously, there are some CUTE things there!
oh my goodness love love love this outfit! Awesome colors, and beautiful fabrics! That pop of pink is so perfect. Stunning outfit, one of my faves of yours!
ReplyDeleteThanks! It ended up being one of my favorites too! :)
ReplyDeleteHey there! I love this outfit! That blouse is so feminine and that skirt is so unique! Colors are great on you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful top/skirt. I definitely think you should try wearing it as a dress. Perhaps with some leggings so that you feel more comfortable with the length?
ReplyDeletePeggy and Jamie, thank you!
ReplyDeleteJamie, I think you might have something there with the tights. I may have to go buy some pink tights now just to see if I can pull that off. Thanks for the idea!
On second thought, maybe just plain brown ones would be safer... :)
