This scarf was stolen.
From my daughter.
My mom bought it for her the other day while they were shopping because it was only $1 and she thought it'd be fun for her to play with. Well...I saw it and liked it and figured I needed another scarf since I only have one. So I took it.
My daughter asked me about it this morning but I let her play with my other scarf and she was happy. So yay!
This outfit didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped. I love the colors, but I think it might be time to retire this skirt. Or at least only wear it with actual structured belts. Eh.
That's really all I've got for today. Tonight is our Access group Family Dinner and tonight's theme is Birthday Party because it's one of the girl's birthdays (hi Jennifer! Happy birthday!). We're having burgers and hot dogs (well, I'm having a black bean burger since I'm the only vegetarian), sides and CAKE!
Yay for cake!
How's your week been so far?

just to say hi! I'd love to get to know you!
Today's outfit:
White Skirt: Gap (YEARS ago, like probably a decade)
Gray Tee (embellished neckline, that's not a necklace): Plato's Closet
Pink/Silver Scarf: my daughter's dress up stuff
Silver Stilettos: Payless
Oh so cute! Love the pop of colour the stolen goods give it LOL!
ReplyDeleteYour outfit is sooooo awesome! I love that pop of color too! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteHugs,

I love the pop of color the scarf brings to your outfit!
ReplyDeleteI actually think this outfit looks great! Fun color combination and, of course, I love the stolen pink scarf :)
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! Great scarf too! ;) Hope you have an excellent day!
ReplyDeleteSo funny you're already borrowing clothes from your daughter! That's just the cutest thing :)
ReplyDeleteUm you look absolutely ADORABLE! I love the soft colors and the embellishment on the neckline? Perfection!
I think the color of the top and the pink are nice together. Stolen scarves always do the job :)
ReplyDeleteThe colour is great! I don't quite get why you don't like that white skirt though! It's making me wish I had one!
ReplyDeleteI love the dual purpose of that scarf! It looks so put together and great!
ReplyDeleteI think it looks pretty good, myself! I'm always self-conscious about throwing a scarf around my waist...I just feel like its adding extra bulk there...but some days it actually looks like I want it too--which is how yours looks today! :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, I can't believe you and your daughter share clothes/accessories. Isn't she a really small toddler? I actually like the color of the belt but I think this outfit is already pretty fun in the first place and with the addition of the belt probably *too* fun.
ReplyDeleteYour dinner thing sounds really delicious..mmm...cake.
I love that you "borrowed" your daughter's scarf! I've stolen one of my dad's ties and wear it as a belt. Well, sort of stole...it was in the goodwill pile, and I decided I wanted it!
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks so much for your comment on my post. I was definitely laughing at my mistakes. I had a momentary panic after the Febreeze-jacket mishap, but once I realized it wasn't belach, I was a-okay!
HI dollface:) What a cute outfit today!! LOVE the bright scarf.....Ive stolen plenty from my daughter too, lol....she only wants it back once she sees how I style it,...then its all "new again"....hope you are having a great day at work....Im scooting out early for my nail appt today!!

I love scarves, they are so versatile! It adds a bright pop of color to your look.
ReplyDeleteadorable!! I borrow from my daughter too! Love the colors!!
ReplyDeleteLol! You crack me up Melissa. I love the pink scarf used as a belt. The white skirt is lovely! Don't get rid of it or anything.
ReplyDeleteI love how you're never afraid to wear color! Great pop of color, henceforth I am now using scarfs as belts!
ReplyDeleteHave you tried wearing the skirt higher on the waist and belting it? I've been close to dumping skirts that sit lower on my waist but when I hike it up and belt it (or scarf it) it takes on a whole new life. Worth a try before it goes into retirement!
ReplyDeleteAnd I wish I could borrow stuff from my kid, but he's a boy and his belts are about 18" long! :)
I love the bright pink with this outfit! What a fantastic steal!
ReplyDeleteAnd a black bean burger sounds sooo yummy! Have a great time at the dinner!
hahaha, I think its so funny that you borrowed your daughter's scarf! I bet she goes thru mommy's closet all the time - I know I did.
ReplyDeleteHope the bbq is fun!!
You did well borrowing the scarf from your daughter. Lovely colour!
ReplyDeleteHey if something works with an outfit, sometimes you just have to appropriate it :). Lovely outfit, the pink is a nice splash of color!
ReplyDeleteThat scraf rocks! You look very sassy, it is a fun element.
ReplyDeleteI know I used to go through my Mom's closet and 'borrow' her clothes! But now, she's been shopping in mine!
ReplyDeleteYou look so assurable Mel!

I like it! The downside to having boys... no accessories to steal, lol :)
ReplyDeleteYeah the scarf is very bright and cheerful! You thief!! ;)

I think the whole look is great. And that scarf is so cute!
ReplyDeleteLOL about the scarf! You look so pretty in these pics.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone!
ReplyDeleteMelanie, I tried hiking the skirt up a little higher but it's a little too big so it kept slipping. Maybe a belt is a better option for it instead of a scarf, a belt would keep in in place more securely.
Yes, my daughter is only 3 years old so I don't typically go borrowing anything of hers. I just really liked this scarf! So my mom went back and bought a few other ones just for me. :) She spoils us.
