It seems that my version of the White Out challenge by Beck is more to just not wear black. Hm. Maybe I need more white items for summer.
This outfit is an example of what happens when you wear pieces that don't fit well. This skirt wrinkles a tad too much (and I don't own an iron), plus it doesn't sit correctly on me. This top (which, by the way, I thought was yellow but looks green to me today and I'm not really okay with that) does weird things at the neckline and poofs oddly.
So. In theory, in my head, I really liked this outfit. Executed with these particular pieces, not so much.
Eh, you win some, you lose some, right? The beauty of style is that I get to try again tomorrow.
Have a great day, friends!
Today's outfit:
White Skirt: Can't remember, it's too old
Yellow(ish) Shirt: Target
Pink Cami: Charlotte Russe
Pink Belt: Salvation Army
Pink Sandals: Payless
What are you talking about, I think you look great today! Very summer time looking, like you should be at the beach!
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful today. And I love that little hidden POP of pink you have underneath!! The average person will not be able to tell that your clothes do not fit. I promise. :)

I love the neckline on this blouse...so flattering and the skirt is really cute!
ReplyDeleteI love the neckline of this shirt. Pink and yellow look great together! Love your wedges, especially since they are pink!
ReplyDeleteI agree - you are swimming in that top! Definitely like the idea though.
ReplyDeleteYour outfit still count as white-out to me :)
I love your belt and shoes! You still look great whether it fits how you wanted it to or not, but I know what you mean. How do you get away with not owning an iron? How do you keep your clothes so pressed and like-new looking and together???? Please do tell!

Ya know, I think you're so cute with your poses! I love them!
ReplyDeleteAnd I actually love the little touch of pink you've got peeking out of the yellow shirt. Altogether, I think it's a really cute outfit! Even if you're not feeling it, you wear it proudly, girl! Because you look fantastic!
Your right you win some and you lose some. Have a great day.

You look beautiful in the top...it looks like celery green which is a nice contrast to your olive skin tone! Also, I am guessing the skirt is linen so it wrinkles faster than any other fabric known to woman kind.

I actually really like how the top looks, but I understand what you mean about tops like that puffing out funny. Love those shoes!

It sounds like you are suffering from the same shirt issue I run into sometimes. Some shirts you buy to be loose and some you buy to be fitted and when you want to wear a loose blouse and create shape, it doesn't always work out. I think that green is actually nice on you!
ReplyDeleteI actually like the neckline on that shirt! and I think the pairing with the belt makes this shirt work. I agree and think that I do like some of your other outfits better but I don't think this looks bad on you at all! None of us has the perfect wardrobe and it's how we make it work that matters :)
ReplyDelete"The beauty of style is that I get to try again tomorrow." I love that.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I think your look is so refreshing and perfect for summer today! Like a really great glass of limeade. :)
The yellow top looks pretty paired with white. I don't own a lot of white, so white-out outfits are hard for me.
ReplyDeleteMelissa, if you lived near me - I would be stealing that top. I love the sleeves on it! I do think it would benefit from being more fitted at the bottom, but it looks great! Those shoes are a definite win.
ReplyDeleteHate it when that happens, you're all like "woo, awesome outfit planned" and then the outfit is all like "meh, I don't wanna work and be awesome". Happens to me often. That being said, I don't think this one is so bad. I like the drape of the top.
ReplyDeleteYou look fabulous! I love the color of that top and the combination of the green with the cami and shoes.
ReplyDeleteI think you are super summery and cheerful looking today! And GREAT flamingo pose! You go girl! I don't own an iron, either. I bought a steamer and I LOVE it! It wasn't expensive and it works on all types of fabric and styles....just a thought. I love the neckline and the way the top hangs.... I have no idea what you are talking about that it doesn't look right. You are being too hard on yourself! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteWhite and yellow reminds me of daisies which make me happy!
ReplyDeleteI think it looks adorable! And I still can't believe you don't own an iron!
ReplyDeleteWell you LOOK cute and I wish I had bought that top when I saw it and I love pink + yellow! (And and and I am all over the run-on sentences today.)
ReplyDeleteYour shoes are great! Are they comfortable? You have the cutest looks and they are things that look great in the heat of summer.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I love the yellow top with the white...you look perfect for summer :)
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is cute! The neckline is really quite interesting, and I love the color of that top!

I actually really love the blouse and those shoes are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteLove those shoes!! I really need to invest in a pair...
ReplyDeleteBut the colours look great on you! I'm a huge black and brown or black and white outfit lover, so I have to force myself to be adventurous with colour. Don't give up!

I think the outfit looks great on you. I love the belt with the yellow shirt.
ReplyDeleteI actually really love all the light colors in this look. So pretty and summery! It borders on neutral without being boring in any way.
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree that summer fabrics can wrinkle easily -- always a major frustration of mine.
That is the beauty of fashion - tomorrow is another day!
ReplyDeletePersonally, I think you look adorable, but pictures can't show if something isn't comfortable so at least you know for next time.
I will say - those shoes are so lovely! I want them :)
I think it's a great outfit...love the yellow and white together with the pink accents!
