I truly, honestly, wholeheartedly believe that I have the best readers in the world. Because you're not just readers, you're friends - and you've given me so much support and encouragement that just saying thank you doesn't seem to be enough.
I'm going to say thank you anyway, and in the meantime I'll try to come up with a better way to express my gratitude. :) I so very much appreciate all of your comments yesterday. Yes, I'm in the middle of a rough patch at the moment with a lot of things, but I tried to make my post lighthearted in spite of all that. Thank you for recognizing that I needed some encouragement and for sending some to me.
Now before I get all weepy...
This is what I wore for the board meeting. I don't know why I'm having such a difficult time coming up with board meeting attire lately. I feel like I should wear a standard skirt suit but I've worn them all already. My boss isn't big on prints in skirts, so I there are a few dresses that I can't wear and several skirts that I can't wear for board meetings.
I do like this though. I think it's the jacket that pulls it all together! There's some subtle pattern mixing with the vertical pinstripes in the skirt and the horizontal stripes in the shirt. Those shoes are really fun too with the zipper detail on the toe bed.
And...since our meeting ended up being around 3 hours, I didn't leave work until 9PM so I'm kind of exhausted and am going to bed.
Thanks again, friends. If you've ever doubted how special you are, don't. You're all very, very special to me. :) Have a great day!
Tuesday's outfit:
Black Pinstripe Skirt: Ross (part of a suit)
Striped Top: Macy's
Blue Blazer: Burlington (part of a set)
Black Belt: Can't remember
Heels: Target
I like the stripes mixed with more stripes... I feel like they are the universal pattern mixer they go with everything!

You are such an inspiration! And if your blog needs to take a backseat for a few weeks, months, or longer, we certainly understand!
I hope you got a good night sleep.

The blue looks just lovely on you! I think that you are clearly a dedicated and great employee. I know that my rebellious nature would cause me to get in trouble all the time with work stuff. And 9pm?? Dude, that's not so good. Hope you have a better day today!
ReplyDeleteBoard Room appropriate. Blog follower approved. ;)

ReplyDeleteHi Mel - You look so cute! I love the stripes under the bright blue top! I think you have a crazy boss for not liking patterns and prints....so weird! I am having a terrible day... let's go get a facial! ;) Cheers!
ReplyDeleteYou are so sweet. I had to go back and read your previous post to see what is going on. I am sorry. Just post whenever you can and don't stress about the blog. It is supposed to be fun and not a job at least for some of us. :)
ReplyDeleteLoved both outfits.

Hugs, Mel! I hope today was even just the tiniest bit better for you...
ReplyDeleteThat blue is gorgeous on you :)
I love the whole concept of your blog. I'm a working mommy too and I soooo appreciate women who make a true effort to stay fabulous, stay themselves, stay feminine and make no apologies for doing so! (And isn't that what makes us better mom's anyway?)
ReplyDeleteI really like the stripes in this look. A little bit of funk to an otherwise classically chic ensemble. xx
First, you look fab! The colour and stripes are a great combo!
ReplyDeleteSecond, I found it interesting you didn't want to wear your skirt suits because you've "worn them already". I've noticed this trend among a lot of blogs. Sometimes, it's ok to repeat outfits - especially when life is a little rough. Don't add any more pressure to yourself than need be!
I am sure no one would blame you if you took a little bit of time off. I took a whole week off. I just couldn't get to it. But, I am trying to be back.
ReplyDeleteYou look great in this outfit. I love how you've moved into short blazers this summer. It is fun and pretty and girly and still very professional.
