Daily MelWear: Summer?

Well HI! How's everyone doing? The week is almost over. I'm ready for Friday!

So tonight is our weekly Access group.  Access groups are small groups from our church that come together based upon some kind of common theme.  Our group's theme is Family Dinner Night! It's for couples with young kids so the kids get play time and the adults get adult time. Tonight's meal theme is Italian. I can't wait!

I wanted to be comfortable tonight and since I don't have time to change after work, this is the best I can do. Pants aren't particularly comfy to me so I picked a skirt, added a tank in a coordinating color, threw on my favorite cardigan with a belt and I'm in my summer uniform.

What? It's fall?

The 101 heat index begs to differ.

Today's outfit:
Skirt: Target
Pink Tank: Plato's Closet
White Cardi: Ross
Brown Snakeskin Belt: Salvation Army
Nude Snakeskin Pumps: Payless
Green Jewelry: Beya

  4. I love the bright combination of color balanced by the white cardigan - such a fun, summery cool look, Melissa! And that necklace is really amazing.

  5. I have a very similar skirt to that, in coral! I don't think it is flattering around the waist on me, but maybe I just need to try layering it with a cardigan like you did!

  6. 101? I'm jealous. We're with in reaching distance of the freezing mark some mornings here. With rain. Your outfit today is the closest to sunshine I'll get!

  14. Gorgeous colors! While I'm craving my darker colored heavy fabrics, someone always comes along and pops up with a super cute bright outfit that makes me cling to summer.

Like you said though - with high heat it's hard to imagine it's fall.

  17. I love your summery outfit. And you have such a great physique for belted cardigans and blazers! And hey, according to the calendar, it's not fall until September 22nd, right?

The church I grew up in did something similar. They were called "small groups" and they usually met at someone's house. My parents hosted for years, and we were always the kid-friendly group. Our house was super-relaxed, so people could bring their kids. The adults would be in the living room, and the kids could watch movies, play games, and eat snacks in the family room. Worked pretty well for all. I hope you have a fabulous time tonight!

  18. I love how colorful this is! I think summer is fading out here, but I'm not ready to break out the boots and tights just yet.

Your church group sounds like a lot of fun! I love theme nights/parties, and Italian food sounds delish! Hope you have a good time.

  25. Oh guys, we had SO much fun!

Jamie, it's just like you described your group was.

We played games, watched YouTube videos, had a fantastic Italian dinner (my husband made the Tiramisu for dessert!) and laughed the entire time. It's great and we do it every Thursday, for the most part. I love it!

Thanks for your comments! You guys just really, REALLY make my day. I smile every time I see a comment pop into my email.

You're all great. I'm so glad to be a part of this community with all of you!

  27. I'm loving this outfit! The color combo is so fresh and feminine. The pink top picks up the little pink in the skirt beautifully. I also really like how you belted the cardi, good job!
