I can't decide if I like this. The outfit started with the shoes. I haven't worn them on the blog yet and figured a week while the boss is away would be a good time. First I considered a black dress with them, and I'm really wishing I'd gone with that option instead.
As much as I complain about this skirt, how it doesn't quite fit so I never feel good in it, I do seem to wear it an awful lot. That just goes to show me that I need a new A-line white skirt!
Originally I had the top tucked in and the skirt pulled up to create a paperbag waist, but that didn't do it for me, so I untucked. I will be honest, I do like it a little better after seeing the photos. The mirror made me uncomfortable though.
And now I'm at work, sniffling, sneezing, coughing, and trying to breathe because I'm congested. The worst part of a cold is not being able to breathe.
Anyone want to bring me some chicken noodle soup-without-the-chicken-because-I'm-a-vegetarian? And some orange juice? I'll be your best friend!
Hope you all have a happy and HEALTHY day!
Today's outfit:
White Skirt: Gap
Pink Cami: Charlotte Russe
Green/White Floral Top: From my aunt (but it's an Ann Taylor)
Pink Belt: Salvation Army
Pink Necklace: Wal-Mart
Nude Wedge Sandals: Beall's
First let me say that I love the blouse!! I agree with your instincts...the shoes are cute but not for work. I also agree with your insticts that this top would look fabulous with a darker color...black, grey or every purple. The dark color would bring it to a classy, chic level that I think you want at work and then pair it with a set of pointed toe kitten heals..it would be a show stopper! You have great instincts...follow them!
ReplyDeleteI personally LOVE it! Make sure none of your co-workers tell on you for your super cute jazzy wedges. Too cute!

I love your skirt, it looks so great with your green top and pink accessories!Your wedges bring the whole look together nicely!
ReplyDeleteFeel better! Summer colds are no fun.
Ooh! I love the green paired with the pink! Your sandals are so fun too! They are so cute with the flowers :)
ReplyDeleteI never would've thought about pink with green. Love it! Those shoes are cute, but look painful to me. =)
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit! The color combo is great and it looks adorable with those wedges.
ReplyDeleteI like the colour combo of the outfit, it's really summery and I LOVE the sandals :)
ReplyDeleteLove the shoes and the pink under your top. Makes it look very bright and summery. I personally think that mirrors lie most of the time. Also our brains are dumb and tell us things that aren't true. You look great!
ReplyDeleteGreat wedges!! Love the ruffles on the green top and how you paired it with pink! Wish I could bring you some vege broth.. Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeletelove this combination, love your shoes! xooooo
ReplyDeleteI love your printed top and this entire combo! Very chic :)
ReplyDeleteI like it! I think you look summery.
ReplyDeleteYou should put that skirt in the donation pile before it ends up back in your closet. I think it looks fine, but I do the same thing all the time - wear something, remember why I don't like it, it ends up in my closet again, and I forget why I hated it. :)

Those wedges are super cute. This really makes me want a white skirt, but I'm terrified to wear one on the subway :( Boo! BTW--feel better, dear!

LOVE LOVE LOVE that blouse..the colors are GORG.
ReplyDeleteI agree that the shoes prob aren't the best "work shoe" especially w all your restrictions and dress code regulations etc.
BUt...they are beautiful wedges and you should DEF wear them all summer long to NON work functions.
Hope you have a happy week..
ps I have a great giveaway on my blog:)

ohh your blog is just adorable! so happy i found it :)
ReplyDeleteI think the shoes go perfectly! If you don't feel good in that skirt stop wearing! Life's too short complicated to not feel good in your clothes!
ReplyDelete^errr realized too late that I missed the "it" - I meant stop wearing it!
ReplyDeleteI love your pink and green combo...so fun! Maybe those shoes aren't the best for work, but if the boss isn't there, who cares have some fun lol!
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are awesome, but agreed I don't think they are the best for work. Also, I think the shirt might work better tucked in. Just a thought...you still look cute!
ReplyDeleteI like this look a lot, actually, and I looooove those shoes! Feel better!
ReplyDeleteLove the pink and green! The sandals are adorable. I'd wear them all the time I could.
ReplyDeleteI think it's great! The shoes are my favorite part!

I think the shoes are cute. I hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteI think you look darling! Fabulous shoes :)
ReplyDeleteGet to feeling better soon!
The outfit is really cute! So summer-y and the shoes, just adorable!
ReplyDeleteI really like the look! The top is super cute and the belt defines your waist perfectly. Isn't it funny how pictures can change things? Most times for me I look at the picture and I am like, what was I thinking? The mirror was lying to me! On another note, I am sick too. One of my nephews passed me a cold last week and I have been surviving on dayquil all day!! I hope you feel better soon :)
ReplyDeleteOh, those shoes are just too cute! Cork wedges are some of my favorites this season. I just can't get enough and keep browsing online, even though I already have a perfect pair (need to remind myself of this, often!!!).
ReplyDeleteI really love the bright pink with the sage green. So pretty and ladylike!
I hope you feel better soon. Are you shoe Madden Girls?

Love this on you!! The green is soo nice! Hope you're feeling better!
ReplyDeleteI love these summery colors. Everything looks so light and perfect for the hot weather. Maybe a trip to the tailor could improve your relationship with your skirt?
ReplyDeleteI like the outfit.
ReplyDeleteI have outfits that I like more or less until I see the pictures. I don't really like either feeling because either I felt crappy until I saw the pics or I felt great and saw the pics and realized it was actually crappy.
So, I'm only something like three days behind, you know, but I hope you're feeling better!
ReplyDeleteI really love the pattern on that blouse (and I'm pretty much a sucker for anything green!), and those shoes are adorable! Glad they're getting some wear with the boss out :)
