Somehow I don't think the Double Polka is quite as amusing as the Double Rainbow. {I can't believe you can buy the song on iTunes now. You'd think in this day and age, I would've been able to come up with something comparable to get rich.}
{By the way, if you're thinking, "Wow Melissa, that cardigan looks awfully familiar, didn't you just wear that?" the answer is no, but great observation. :) I have this cardigan in two colors and I wore the turquoise one last week!}
I'm still sniffly and sneezy but instead of talking about that, let's talk about double polka dots! My boss isn't a huge fan of patterns to begin with, so mixing them at work isn't quite an option. Since she's out this week, I took advantage of the wee bit of freedom to pair these two pieces together. I really like it! I love the peach and teal together, plus there's a happy contrast with the white polka dots on the dress and the black ones on the cardigan.
When it comes to pattern mixing, do you prefer to mix two different patterns, or two pieces with the same type of pattern? What are your favorite patterns to mix?
Today's outfit:
Dress: Target
Cardigan: Forever 21
Belt: TargetHeels: Beall's
I hope you start to feel better. Your double polka dots are so fun!
ReplyDeleteI am still really scared to mix patterns, so I don't know if I would do 2 different mixes or the same pattern mix. I guess I will have to experiment some more!
So cute! Great job with the pattern mixing! I love mixing stripes and dots :)
ReplyDeleteI am going to conquer pattern on pattern as my next fashion issue because it's tricky. Done right it looks nice (like how you are wearing it). Don't wrong..it's too busy and can become an eyesore! Wish me luck!
ReplyDeleteomgoshh this is the cutest blog ever!! love it! and your polka dot combination is so fashion foward!! check out my blog if u like =)

I like mixed patterns to either have similar colors or similar patterns, so they match a little bit.

I really like your pattern mixing, I need to try to do that more because I adore it on everyone else! Now to make a stupid youtube video and get rich... ahhh I wish!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat pattern mixing! I really like polka dots with florals and stripes are great for mixing and matching as well! I'm like you, if I like something in one colour (and it's a bargain), I'll buy it in another colour! Forever 21 is finally coming to my city in September :)
ReplyDeleteOne can never have to many polka dots!!

Love your coral and polka dotted cardigan! I'm a big fan of print/pattern mixing, and the two polka dot patterns of your outfit work so nicely together.

Your outfit makes me smile! I love all the polka dots! I am not so adventurous myself.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried the pattern mixing yet.. well except for those leopard/zebra/cheetah/giraffe shoes that I have. I actually like this outfit. I think its very daring.

Polka dots are the cutest!! Hurrah for pattern mixing freedom!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a brave choice and I love it! when I mix patterns I mix patterns of the same scale and color. I am a little afraid of mixing but I am doing it more all the time. You are adorable as usual! ;) Hugs!
ReplyDeleteLoving the double dose of polka dots.

I'm lucky if I wear one pattern let alone do any pattern mixing so I guess my answer is neither.
