Daily MelWear: Mom's Office Jeans

No, these aren't MY mom's jeans. They're not mom jeans either. At least I hope not. You'd tell me if they looked like mom jeans, right? I bought them at Plato's Closet a couple of weeks ago and I really like them. They're not so low rise that I have to keep pulling them up, they have a wider hem so they don't look like plain old jeans, they're a darker wash, AND they're wide-legged! Whee!

AND it's Thursday which means tomorrow is Mommy Day with my girl! We're going to visit the VPK class that she'll likely attend next school year. I'm nervous. She's never been put in daycare, only in church, but she's so incredibly social and loves to meet and play with new friends. I don't really know why I'm nervous, other than realizing this is a huge milestone and she's growing up. My sweet little baby has turned into a smart, funny, beautiful, affectionate little girl and she's only getting more grown up with time. I'm so proud of her and really want to soak in this time with her. She's only going to be this age once and I already miss it!

Whew - enough of that before I cry. We're also going to Party City to pick up the goody bag supplies for her fourth birthday next weekend! YAY!!! I'm so excited! She's turning four, and yet this will be the third birthday party we've had with Disney princesses as the theme. Seriously. We picked the 1st Birthday Winnie the Pooh theme for her (duh) first birthday, but she's picked princesses every year since. Silly girl. :)

Okay I'm off to get some work done. Hope you all have a wonderful Thursday!

Today's outfit:
Jeans: Plato's Closet
Purple Top: Charlotte Russe
Yellow Belt: Target
Yellow Wedges: Ross (I will say that the only annoying thing with sandals and long pants is that the hem constantly gets stuck under my heel when I walk. SO annoying.)

  1. Ok, first of all, the jeans are great. I know what you mean about the low rise jeans and having to pull them up. I LOVE higher wasted, dark wash, wide leg jeans. They are so comfortable and I think they are a classic look. Love the silky purple top with the yellow belt too.

Hope you have fun with your daughter tomorrow. Birthday parties and the like are so much fun. They do grow up fast and you want to treasure every moment with them. School is a milestone also. I cried when both my girls went off to kindergarten.

  2. YAY for purple and yellow!!! You look cute and super fun today. And no, I don't think those look like Mom Jeans at all. No worries.

I am glad I am not the only person who has that pants/sandals problem. I was just thinking about that this morning as I was walking in my building. Stinkin' pants keep getting caught under the strap. Gggrrrr!!!

PS - LOOOOOVE those yellow shoes. Are they new?

  4. You really do a great job with mixing colors together. Your clothes are always so fun and bright! Are those Old Navy jeans? I know they have great fitting jeans. I'll have to give Plato's Closet another try. The last time I went, it was so cramped in there and the prices were very close to what you'd pay at a good sale. Have fun with your daughter and enjoy your LONG weekend!

  8. The jeans are awesome! I definitely wouldn't call them "mom" jeans. Also can't go wrong with yellow shoes :)

Have fun party planning! At least since she still likes the princess theme you dont have to buy new decorations every year? ;)

  10. I love higher-rise jeans! I guess it's a sign that I'm getting older (or maybe just realistic) since I don't want to constantly pull up my jeans anymore!
My son just graduated from preschool and will start kindergarten next year. Let me tell you, I cried like a BABY at his graduation! Flat out bawling! I, too, cherish these early years and never want them to end. They grow so fast and change so much every day. I think it's more intense because I only have one child (and won't have any more) so every minute seems very special. I'm already dreading the first day of kindergarten---I'll be the mom who won't let go and cries all the way home!

PS I hate the sandal/pants problem too!

  11. Those jeans are awesome! I can't do low rise anything anymore - in fact I don't even know how I managed in the first place! I also LOVE the pop of yellow, so fabulous!

And happy bday to your little girl! What a proud momma and she will DEFINITELY grow up to be fantastic and beautiful woman if she's even a little bit like her mom!

  18. @Melanie My youngest graduated from kindergarten on Monday. I got teary during the 2nd song. Full disclosure--I cried when my oldest and youngest started kindergarten. The middle one waved goodbye and was gone before I could cry! But now my baby boy has graduated He's the baby, the only boy. I won't have anymore kindergartners. We will have a pity party together.
