You can't tell me it's not true. Seriously, there are SO many times when I've lamented the fact that my only "yellow" belt had orange with it so I couldn't add it to outfits like this one.
While I don't think yellow is a great color on me near my face (though I wear it anyway), it's still one of my fvaorite colors especially for accenting. Yellow belts, necklaces, shoes, camis...all are fun! And they go with almost every color.
Yellow and purple, yellow and pink, yellow and blue, yellow and green, yellow and red...see?
Yellow is awesome. And it's sunshine-y happy too! Yellow is winning. Don't tell the other colors.
Hey by the way, my sweet friend Charisse has decided (with some, *ahem*, gentle "encouragement") to start her own style blog, Pretty Inside and Out! She's written just one post so far but I know you'll all grow to love her honesty and humor with every post she writes. And she's also a working mom like me! Go check her out!
Hey, how was your weekend? I was featured on Colleen's May Spotlight, have you seen that? Fun! Did you enjoy reading Andie's interview yesterday? I hope so! I certainly did and I'm looking forward to all the great bloggers I have lined up, too! If you're interested in being featured, please email me!
Today's outfit:
Dress: RossCardigan: Target
Belt: Target
Sandals: Beall's
Melissa, this is the cutest dress...I love the print and the collar!! Great choice! I will check out your friends blog! Have a great day...
ReplyDeleteI adore the print on your dress and yes, yellow is a great color :)
ReplyDeleteYellow is my fave colour too! really makes this outfit popopop!
ReplyDeleteI TOTALLY agree with you, everyone needs a yellow belt, including me! Need to find one now!
ReplyDeleteYellow is a great color to use in accessories. I am with you about only wearing yellow near my face once in a while but I love bright colors so it's inevitable.
ReplyDeleteThe yellow accent belt is great. It adds just the right bit of contrast (in a good way) to the colors in the dress.
ReplyDeleteAnd, BTW, I hope you realize how great that dress looks on you!
I wrote about yellow, today, too! I love it. And I have two yellow belts...although one is missing and I am lamenting this fact already this "spring." You look very spring-y today in your floral dress....I love it!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sending your readers my way. It is super sweet. I hope to catch their attention and encourage them to come back often. I now have two posts up, and a third is written and pictures added and scheduled to post tomorrow. I can't say I will be an everyday posting type person....but I do take a lot of pictures...so we will see. :)
I have to agree with you Melissa, yellow is such a happy, fun color. But I am also partial to orange, so I cheat(don't tell yellow). You look great as always.
ReplyDeleteI just bought my first yellow belt last week, although mine is a casual canvas one that will have to 'weekend only', I think. Maybe I'll give it a test run, and then look into upgrading to a cute one like this for work :)
ReplyDeleteI love this dress...the pattern is gorgeous, and the neckline is adorable!!
I love the collar on this dress! And I am totally loving this blog. What a fun idea. Now following, hope you'll follow back!

I love this dress.
ReplyDeleteI recognized that belt as one from Target
I still have yet to wear my purple one that is the same style. I think I'm a little scared of it.
That dress is just perfect for you ! Love the whole outfit.
ReplyDeleteI do need to get a yellow belt. I like yellow, but don't wear it a lot since it doesn't go with my skin tone. I belt would give me some yellow with out making me look washed out.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great dress...love how you added the splash of yellow. I agree, yellow is a winning color...in fact I just bought a pair of yellow wedges from Target!
ReplyDeleteYou look great!
ReplyDeleteThat dress is fabulous. The neckline is really great. Yellow is a wonderful color for anyone. Like you said, a yellow belt (or shoes!) can look great with a million different outfits.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree, yellow is a pretty awesome color...it was the perfect accent to that adorable dress you are wearing :)
ReplyDeleteAll right, you've convinced me... I'll add a yellow belt to thrifting list!
ReplyDeleteI so totally agree with you-- everyone needs a yellow belt. I've been waiting for this yellow belt to go on sale at Target (yeah, I'm that cheap haha!) but it never did. But luckily, I found a yellow snakeskin vintage belt over the weekend. Score! :) I think it'll be perfect for injecting a bit of color to any outfit!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this dress - the neckline is fantastic and it is a great print!
ReplyDeleteIt is probably not surprising to you that I own two yellow belts. Now you're making me want to do a YELLOW week after my orange week this week!
Um. Yes. Yellow is my favorite color and belts are my favorite accessory. It only seems fair to combine the two. This is probably my favorite outfit and favorite dress on you of all time. LOVE so much!

So, so pretty!
ReplyDeleteCUTE color combo! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI completely and totally need a yellow belt. In fact I think I need a belt in every color of the rainbow and a couple of others. I wouldn't mind a dress like this either. That shape is fantastic on you!
