I had an outfit all planned out for today with jeans and a cute top...but then I remembered that I might need to run over to the main medical plaza for a couple things and I can't wear that. And then when I got here I found out I don't have to do it. Meh.
I have a serious case of writer's block right now. I'm usually pretty verbiose but lately I haven't had anything to say. Um...it's hot? Good, checked weather off the list.
That is some riveting stuff right there.
Would you all rather see more outfits with less text or do you prefer to follow blogs with more writing? What do YOU want to read about? Ooooooh, how about this - is there anything you want to know? Ask me some questions and then I can answer them in future posts.
There. That's better.
Today's outfit:
Black Sheath Dress: Target
Black Cardigan: Ross
Teal Belt: Salvation Army
Silver Heels: Payless
I like your wordiness. I like the photos, but I want to feel like I am getting to know the person behind the photos, too. Not that I don't know you, hahaha. But that's my preference. That has been the determining factor in some of the new style blogs I am following.
ReplyDeleteI really like the teal belt - just that little pop of color just draws your eye right in. :) At least it does for me.
I like reading your posts, and I like the pictures, so sorry--no help from me on that one!
ReplyDeleteThis is better than casual Thursdays---very sleek, pulled together and flattering!
I like blogs with some reading to it. Super Cute outfit.
ReplyDeleteHere a Question for you. If you could go any where in the world. Where would you go and Why?

I used to come here for the pictures... now I come here for you! (And the pictures)! More words is always better... but that just may be the 9 years I've spent in school talking!
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Weather? Check. I love your silver heels, btw.
ReplyDeletelove this black, seek look! the belt is the perfect addition - i also love a teal and black combo.
ReplyDeleteI have that dress and LOVE it! I love seeing how others style it. Personally, I like hearing less about the outfits and more about life, but I do love outfit pics. That's just me. Btw, I bet there are so many CAbi sellers in your town! You'd be surprised. And I'm not sure where you live, but my mom flies across the country to do shows, so there's always that! haha I don't sell them simply because my life and full time job are very hectic right now. Someday, I definitely plan on selling it though!
ReplyDeleteOOOOO...love this dress!!! At first I wanted to just write...then I discovered that it is the outfit pics that readers really want. I fought it for awhile...but eventually gave in..when I did people started dropping by my site more often...
ReplyDeleteWords are always good! If I don't have time, I just look at the pics and come back later! You look awesome---- kinda jealous of your tan. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the pop of color in your belt! You look great!
ReplyDeleteI like a combo of words and photos and I'll admit that if there are too many words I lose interest quickly. Mainly I just don't have the time to read all blogs in depth.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely love reading about what inspired you to choose a particular outfit, or reading to get to know you. I'm a newbie to your site. Also, since it seems like you enjoy shopping, I'd love to know when you're about to catch a sale or if you got free shipping from a site, etc.

The shoes are so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou have awesome style!
Girl about Town XxX
I always like a pencil skirt for professional wear.
ReplyDeleteVery cute outfit- I especially love the jewellery and belt! I'm experiencing writer's block as well-so I tend to be photo heavy! I would love to know more about your job since your wardrobe is restricted by it. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove the sparkely dress and how you styled it with the cardi and fun blue belt!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your pizza tonight.
Cute outfit. Pretty and fun and professional.
ReplyDeleteLove the black color scheme with the pop of teal! :) I've been loving how you're doing your hair lately! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteWith the writing words or less words, I never know on that. I want to say so many things about life and whatever is exciting going on, but I find that I only write a few sentences. Some people just skim and look through pictures, some want to connect. You're more personable if you have a paragraph or so telling about what's happening, in my opinion. :)
That belt is amazing! It adds a perfect pop of color to jazz up your already fab outfit!
ReplyDeleteLoving that necklace girl!
ReplyDeleteI prefer less text and more photos..especially for fashion related blogs..I am WAY more of a visual person.

Love the outfit.. and those shoes are SO CUTE! You don't have to write something every time you post... you could even do a week of silence. Only post pics and don't write a thing! Then maybe you will get inspired. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteI love reading what you write but you shouldn't feel obligated to do so.
ReplyDeleteThose shoes I want to steal every time you wear them. And since we wear the same size, if I'm ever in your neck of the woods you should watch out.
Love these layers. The necklaces are very cool as well.
ReplyDeleteIt depends I guess. I am definitely drawn to photos first the writing the next. I do love getting to know the person through their write-ups though. Kind of makes us feel like we know each other and are friends. Also makes the person behind the outfit real, so I guess my answer is what you are doing is perfect. Photos and some text. :)
I like pictures and text but if you don't have anything to say keeping it short is good. Sometimes if it is a long post I have to skip it until later so then the short ones are perfect when I'm short on time.
ReplyDeleteLove the belt! :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes I read, sometimes I just skim. It depends on how behind I am on my Reader and how much time I have!
Hope it cooled off a bit for you. It was 90 here last week and dropped to 60 degrees today!
This dress is fantastic on you, Melissa. So flattering, and I love the slight shimmer. I love posts both with lots of text and just a little -- sometimes I need to skim the longer ones when I'm in a rush, but I try my best to read everything. I figure that if it was worth someone's time to write, then it's worth my time to read!
ReplyDeleteI just bough a similar teal belt at a thrift store. I love yours and love the outfit you put with it!

That black dress is great! The teal belt really sets it off. I love black with a pop of color. And those shoes...I am so jealous!
ReplyDeleteI love how you brought out the shininess of the dress with the metallic shoes!
