Happy Day-After-Memorial-Day to my U.S. readers! Hope you all had a wonderful long weekend relaxing, barbecuing and giving thanks for the freedoms we've been afforded.
I spent Saturday with my girl at our family's annual Memorial Day pool party (my aunt had to work on Monday so we had to switch the day) and then I brought her to her dad, since this was his weekend with her. Sunday was spent at home, going through clothes to donate, cleaning things up, getting blog posts ready (did you read yesterday's Proper Professional with Kileen?) and organizing a new series of blog posts.
Speaking of a new series of blog posts, I have SO much good stuff in store for you guys! I had a fantastic time at SheCon last weekend and I know that I can't possibly capture every part of it. I want to share the experience with all of you and I want you to meet all of the great new friends that I made.
What better way for you to meet all of these fabulous people than to have them each introduce themselves to you! Starting this Friday, I'm beginning a series called SheCon Lovelies where each of my new friends will guest post in an interview format, sharing themselves and their SheCon experiences with all of you. This way you'll get to meet each of them and hear their perspective on what they learned and enjoyed at the conference. I'm SO excited! YAY!!!
Okay so back to the weekend - Sunday night, my mom and I went out with a good friend of mine to see Bridesmaids. SO HYSTERICAL! I loved it!
Monday was full of errands. FULL of errands. And kind of full of annoyance because certain places were closed or I forgot something or something else happened. I ran out of time and didn't get to finish everything I wanted to do, but I did get to go shopping with some coupons at Payless and DSW. Those shoes will be on the blog soon. VERY soon.
My mom wanted to look for some dresses for our family reunion-type vacation at the beach in June so we stopped by Ross. I remembered that TiAnna mentioned she doesn't have a Ross but heard that Burlington was similar, so I decided to pop into Burlington (where I rarely shop) to check it out and compare. Today's outfit is the result of that trip and TiAnna can expect a bill in the mail for all the clothes I ended up buying there. {I'm kidding. Sort of.}
So - whew! That was a lot of text. If you got through all of it, you deserve a cookie. No seriously, go get one. Bring one back for me, too.
Have a great Tuesday, friends!
Today's outfit:
Skirt / Jacket / Belt: Burlington
Black Tank: Target
Black Heels: Beall's
Green Necklace: Beya
Hahaha! Now I want a cookie! =) I don't think I've ever been into Burlington's, but I definitely want to check it out next time I've visiting my folks! (We don't have one, but they do.) That jacket is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a fun filled, jam packed weekend. We have a Burlington, but it's hit or miss with me. I want a Ross!
ReplyDeleteYour outfit is really cute. You have the pattern mixing going on with the flower skirt and polka dot belt. The yellow necklace is a great addition.

I like the full skirt, and the bow belt is super cute.
ReplyDeleteI'll be expecting my cookie in the mail. ;) I love when I find Ross-type stores. This look is great, and that shade of blue looks stunning on you.
ReplyDeleteYou look so lovely in that shade of blue :)
ReplyDeleteI'm ba-ack! :) I haven't been to a Burlington in years, I'll have to pop in next time I'm at the Supermall and check it out.
ReplyDeleteBlue and green look so good on you!
Jenn
Sounds like you had a great weekend! :) Hope you enjoyed every minute! Yay for a short work week!!
ReplyDeleteLove the jacket!! I've only been to Burlington once a longlong time ago. I think the only one I know of is in the nearly defunct mall on the odd side of town. I'm glad to hear they do have good stuff, it sounds like you got a big score.
ReplyDeleteI. LOVE. BURLINGTON! It is like...up there with Target. When I lived in Arlington and in Atlanta I was there all the time. They have the BEST shoes. And cuuute clothes. And great prices. But, alas, the downside of Ithaca is that all the awesome stores are a town or two over. The closest Burlington to me is about an hour away so I can't just *POP* in there any time I want. My wallet is probably happy for that.
ReplyDeleteAnyhoo..that blue...is great! I love this whole outfit.

Such a cute outfit! I love blue and green together and I love the subtle pattern mixing with the floral skirt and the polka dot ribbon belt!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a super busy and fun weekend! We have a Ross in my town which I absolutely love..no Burlington but I am wishing we did after seeing your fabulous finds :)
What a pretty shade of blue! You look great!
ReplyDeleteWow sounds like a fun-packed weekend! I don't think we have a Ross here but there is a Burlington... is that the same as the Burlington coat factory? (maybe not.) Your skirt looks pretty!
ReplyDeleteHahaha, I already had my cookie (3 to be exact)...ooops!
ReplyDeleteIsn't Burlington a dangerous place to shop? All of your new purchases look great and I can't wait to see the new shoes you bought!!!
That jacket is cuuuuuute ! Totally adorable on you ! Love the little pose with the shoes too !

Bridesmaids, eh? We're going to have to try to see that this week. We never actually make it into the theatre, we always get busy doing errands and then it's too late!
ReplyDeleteOh, such a pretty color! And I really love the floral skirt with the polka dot belt...it's so much fun :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a good holiday weekend, and I'm kind of jealous about how productive you were, even if there were a few setbacks. I did nothing this weekend. And as much fun as it was, it made Tuesday kind of tough...totally worth it, though!
I would love a cookie (we'll go half-sies). And I am loving the color in this outfit! So pretty.
ReplyDeleteLove all the blue tones. You look so bright and cheery.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a productive weekend.
Thank you so much for the kind words in your comment.
Daphne.

The colors in this are so pretty. Blue and green feel so popular right now in a good way. I hate when I can't find my favorite colors in stores. Can't wait for the shecon series.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I love the blue + green combo, fresh and chic...
ReplyDeleteGreat skirt and necklace!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you had a fabulous long weekend... I love that colour on you
