30 For 30 Winter Edition 2011 - RECAP!

*Don't forget - the Shopbop $100 Gift Card Giveaway ends TONIGHT! Get your entries in quick!

Happy Sunday, friends!

I hope you're all having a great weekend. I honestly thought that I would have plenty of time this weekend to catch up on blog reading and some work I needed to get done, but I've been so busy running errands, attending a baby shower, getting my new MacBook (squee!) and doing some shopping that I haven't gotten anything else done! I meant to have this post up on Friday but see how well that worked out for me? And today I'm going with a friend to a little fashion show hosted by a local boutique. I'm excited about that!

So here are all of my remixes in the challenge. Some of them are better than others, but I guess it's to be expected that I wouldn't like a few of them.

I think I would probably do another challenge, in a different season like Spring or Summer, just to see what I would do when layering isn't as much of an option in warmer weather. I do depend a LOT on dresses and belts...which is why I went to Ross on Friday night and spent too much money on more dresses.

And I think I might have mis-numbered some of them. But there are 30 of 'em so that's really all that matters, right?

Which one is your favorite? Notice any themes or things that work better for me than others?

And now, all of you lovely people who are so very generous with your time and advice...if you use a Mac, what's your best advice? What are your favorite things? How do you edit photos and make collages and do all that fun stuff? I've never used PhotoShop and don't know anything about it, but I have it now.

I'm going to have to figure out how to get all of my files and iTunes stuff transferred (it might take a trip to the Apple store so they can do it for me, but if I can get it all onto an external hard drive, I might do that and just keep them stored there).

And in other fun news, I ordered my new camera last night! BIG thanks to Erin for all of her help and advice! Hopefully it'll get here this week because we have a surprise birthday party next weekend for my ex-husband's grandfather and I'd love to use that to take pictures. I just need to work on getting a full size tripod now. I'm also considering getting a Gorillapod too if I can find one that works for BOTH the iPhone 4 and my camera and can attach to a full size tripod. I don't want to buy one for each.

Okay, enough babbling. I have to go do some stuff with Shutterfly now! Lots of gifts to create! Whee!

Hope you all have a fabulous day!!!

  1. I like outfits 2 and 9 best :)

  2. I just use iPhoto to edit my pictures...it's pretty good for what I do (maybe adjust the color or warmth, and pop out a zit or two). I used photoshop for a class in college and it was just too complicated for me - plus it's expensive! iPhoto is free!

  4. You wore a belt every day! I think you are addicted. :)
My favorite was #19, very relaxed and cute, but a little extra pop with the scarf tucked into the belt. Well done!

  5. I hear you about trying to catch up. Every time I have intentions of doing that it fails and something else happens. However, I think getting a new Macbook would DEFINITELY steer me away from getting what I want done.

Congrats on being done...such a great accomplishment isn't it?

  6. Congrats on making it to #30! Iloke #3, 25 and 30 the best.

As for the Mac: I use iPhoto 97% of the time to edit my pics. I use Photshop Elements to do special effects and make collages. If you don't know anything about Photoshop and have little graphics experience, I would invest in a how-to book. Photoshop does some really awesome things, but it's a tough program. Good luck!

  8. 12, 19, and 24...those are my favorites! And I hadn't even noticed you wore a belt everyday until I saw it in another comment, but when it works, it works :)

I'm so jealous about your macbook! I think my sweet little HP netbook is feeling sad about my computer envy today.

This Life, Redefined…stop by and say hi!

  19. I have a mac :) I use adobe suite to edit my images in Fireworks. All I do is just make sure they're the same size and that the colours/contrasts are okay. I then save it as a .jpeg then load it onto photobucket! it's so easy! I'm a new follower and I hope you follow me too :)

  21. 1, 10, 13, 27 are my favorites (1 per week) but the week of 20-25 I like too many of them.

  22. I had a mac and used iphoto and hated it. it didn't do things the way I wanted them done.

I use photoshop on my computer now and did use it on my mac before. I don't do a lot of fancy stuff. Once you know a few things you like to do, you stick to those and you do it so quickly.

Go to Pioneer Women's blog and see her photoshop actions http://thepioneerwoman.com/photography/category/photoshop-actions/ It took em an hour to figure out what actions were then I just use them all the time in 3 seconds.

  23. Yay! You've joined the Mac club! You won't regret it!

    Wow you wore a belt for 30 days! I couldn't do that :) I like 2, 10, and 19 :)

I used to use only Picasa but now I am learning to use a bit of Photoshop as well. I wish I knew iPhoto but it really confuses me, haha I'm not patient enough!

  24. Liz made a point that you did wear a belt everyday. I had to come look because I didn't even realize it.

  25. 1, 6, 9, 20, and 25 are my favorites. :)
