Hi everyone! How was your day yesterday? I've been so busy at work and home that I haven't had a chance to visit blogs lately and I miss seeing and reading the updates. How are you all doing?
I've decided to accept the challenge that some of you have issued in regard to my dress code. I've decided to try finding myself and my own style within the confines of our regulations. Monday's outfit only had the polka dots out of code (we're not really supposed to wear patterns), Tuesday's outfit fit pretty well I think except for the necklace (taken off when I left my office though!), and today's outfit makes me feel REALLY good! Very spring-like AND professional.
Winning!
Oops, sorry, that slipped.
And before you ask, I truly was not trying to match the new blog design today. I just happen to like pink and yellow together!
My boss asked me if I had anything special planned today, based upon the outfit. I'm taking that as a compliment. :)
Hope you all have a great Wednesday!
Today's outfit:
White Skirt and Blazer: From my aunt (thank you!!!)Pink Ruffled Blouse: Dots
Yellow Ribbon Belt: Target (came with a shirt I haven't worn yet)
Nude Pumps: DSW
Yes, I'm still totally in love with my camera and having tons of fun with it!
Love the suit! I went to Macy's at Fashion Square Mall and got two beautiful suits off the sale rack for $69.95 each! I can't wait to wear my beautiful new suits. Yours is lovely :)
ReplyDeleteI really love this outfit. It reminds me of spring and I want spring weather. I've been thinking about wearing spring outfits to try to trick my brain but then my feet get numb at work because it is too cold (and that's with wearing tights)
ReplyDeleteThe fact you accidentally matched your new blog design proves you are dressing like you, and within the dress code! I'm glad your boss's reaction was much better - though I'd have loved to hear she gushed. Maybe she quietly did in her office.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm sure you're going to get lots of use out of that skirt - the perfect length with those heels.
Sigh, this whole outfit is making me hopeful for spring. I'm visiting my parents, and the snow is about the height of my shoulders. I can make it!
I love this!! I have been dressing in spring colors trying to will spring to get here. It was a nice warm 39 degrees yesterday and that's the warmest it's been in a while. And they are forecasting up to 7 inches of snow for April Fool's Day. I was hoping it was just a joke...but apparently not.
ReplyDeleteI loove love love these shoes. I have several pairs of nude shoes and I just can't find words to say how much I love them.
Glad your boss approved (in her own way) of your outfit today. I think that you are doing great with attempting to adhere to the "new" relaxed dress code. Looking forward to seeing what else you come up with.
I think the ribbon belt really tops it off. I love the pink top and the SHOES - one thing I've got on my spring wish list is a pair of nude patent pumps. Yours are ace.
ReplyDeleteFirstly I absolutely adore the new design changes, so fresh & pretty -love it! And speaking of love, I'm loving this outfit. It's such an adorable, feminine & chic look on you. You look absolutely beautiful! xx veronika

This is absolutely what I think of when I think of "spring professional." So often we are still stuck in dark suit pieces in the middle of summer. Love your pink and yellow combo, too! :)

ReplyDelete...and I love those nude shoes, too. They are perfect on you!
Oh my goodness -- Melissa you look like a trillion bucks! I love that you've kept the color scheme very neutral here, with some fun pops of pastel (gotta add in the pretty, right?). And those nude heels are just perfect. This skirt suits fits you to a tee and is so flattering.
ReplyDeleteAnd I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your recent posts discussing professional attire. I've really been pondering what it means to dress "professionally." Even though my office does not have a dress code, I've been trying to dress a little bit more "business-y" of late. I find that I just feel more productive and focused when in more formal attire, so it has a positive effect on my worn. I like that my outfits have always expressed my personality, and now I'm going to challenge myself to incorporate whimsical accents in ways that are more subtle : )
oh heavens... this is precious! I love the white with nude and pastel pieces. It's such a sunny and bright outfit, I hope you were happy all day long wearing this!
ReplyDeleteLove. It.
ReplyDeleteI feel like this is such a perfect outfit for you...professional, with little pops of fun included to keep anything from getting too stuffy. And you look fantastic :)
And your pictures still crack me up. I'm glad you're having so much fun playing with the new camera!
honey, you look absolutely STUNNING in this outfit! I'm so excited to see how you rise to the challenge that is your dress code. I love everything you've done so far! And now I want a white skirt suit.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! You are so amazing to wear a white suit. I've only recently even tried to brave white tops. Such is life as klutz.
ReplyDeleteYour battle for looking stylish and professional is commendable. You look nice and polished. Continue the fight to be modern and capable as a young professional. We took up the fight years ago, I'm 41, and need you as the next generation to continue the trend of allowing women to be women in the workforce
ReplyDeleteYour suit looks so great Melissa! The pink shirt and yellow belt really add a nice touch!
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing. The classic tailoring gives you a wonderful va-va-voom silouhette - within that crazy dress code!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh!! Everything about this outfit is super cute! I love the colors, and I really need those shoes! Too cute! I totally need this outfit!!! :)
