{EDIT - I added more pictures and now the layout is all wonky. None of my paragraphs are new paragraphs, everything is running together and I don't know how to fix that. Grrr. Hopefully my husband can sit down with me sometime to show me some actual HTML to make it look right. In the meantime - I'm sorry!}
I'll admit it: this is a blatant copy of someone else's outfit.
I'll admit it: this is a blatant copy of someone else's outfit.
The bigger problem here is that I can't remember WHO the person is! I have a horrible memory. Seriously, when I hit my "Golden Years," it ain't gonna be pretty. "Wait, who am I again?"
Oy.
So anyway, I saw someone else wear the skinny pant with the striped top and black blazer. I thought it looked really great on her and that I would try it.
(By the way, if you're her {and I hope you'd know if you've recently worn pretty much this exact outfit}, please let me know so I can give credit and link to you!)
Everybody dance! Points to whomever can guess what movie that's from! |
This morning was a little hectic and rushed. I had to leave early because we had a meeting at work. My mom called (today is her birthday - happy birthday, Mom!!!) because her car wouldn't start so she couldn't come get the baby and we had to get the baby up so my husband could bring her to my mom's house. Then when I was putting our laundry into the washer, something fell out of the clothes onto my arm - that ended up being a ROACH.
Oh, ew.
So since I think this other mystery blogger looked so much better, I would have changed into something different if I'd had more time, but I didn't. Soooo I didn't. Oh well - I still like the concept of it.
I did button the jacket once I got to work, I think that helped to define my waist a little which was my biggest issue with the ensemble, but I didn't take any pictures here so you'll have to envision that.
(While you're envisioning, could you also envision that I'm holding a HUGE cup of coffee with Coffee-Mate Amaretto Creamer that I can no longer find anywhere in my state? I could really use some more caffeine right now and I miss my creamer. K, thanks.)
Have a great day, everyone!!!
Today's outfit:Black Pants: The Limited (from my mother-in-law)
Black/White Striped Shirt: Macy's
Black Blazer: JC Penney
Red/Black Pumps: Payless (from my mom)
Black Necklace: Wal-Mart
I copy outfits alllll the time. Haha. I loove those shoes! You look great.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely give yourself some more credit here, this looks great! But I do like the jacket better closed. Man, I can’t wait until its cool enough to wear a jacket again.
ReplyDeleteImitation is the sincerest form of flattery! You look great, though. I lovelovelove those shoes. They have a fabulous shape.
ReplyDeleteLove the jacket + stripes combo.
ReplyDeleteI do the same thing- I remember the outfit and not the person sometimes!
Love, love, love this outfit! I can't wait till my 30 for 30 is over so I can start copying outfits like this.
ReplyDeleteThat's the great part about fashion blogging...you see a lot of ideas and inspiration! I've definitely bookmarked posts to go back to and copy.
ReplyDeleteYou look really great here...I think it looks fine with the jacket unbuttoned, but I realize it often just feels weirder that way. I prefer my jackets buttoned as well. Love the striped top!
Julie - I'm glad I'm not the only one who copies! Sometimes I just don't have the mental capacity to come up with anything original. :)
ReplyDeleteNikkole - Thank you! My office is FREEZING every day, so I could probably wear fall-weather clothing every day and be fine. :)
Megan - I am absolutely sincere in my admiration of her outfit! Darn, I wish I could remember who that was. Those shoes are awesome, aren't they? So glad I stole them from my mom. :)
Beck - I'm glad I'm not the only one who forgets. I really have a bad memory. It's scary sometimes! But the outfits - those stick with me. Selective memory, perhaps? :)
Frances Joy - You're doing AWESOME in your 30 for 30. I kind of wish I'd participated. I love all of your remixes!
Angeline - Inspiration is definitely something that I need, and I'm so grateful to the fashion blogging community for that! I think buttoning the jacket just gives more waist definition and it looks more polished and professional that way too. Glad I finally did that once I got to work!
I love skinny jeans with a blazer. You look so cute!
ReplyDeleteJessica, they're actually black pants; I'm not allowed to wear jeans at work. But I like the silhouette of this outfit and after your comment, now I want to try the skinny jeans/blazer look on the weekends! Of course, not really in summer...but once fall/winter hits! :) Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! You can never go wrong with b&w stripes and a blazer.
ReplyDeleteKiki - I totally agree! I should really try it in a more casual setting, too.
