Daily MelWear: Spur of the Moment

I have no idea why I'm wearing this today. Seriously, no idea. When I went to sleep last night, I thought of several pieces that I've bought recently and haven't worn yet and I thought of how I could style them today. Then, I woke up, saw this skirt and threw this outfit on. It doesn't make me particularly happy, but it's not bad either.

I really don't know why I didn't wear the new stuff. Sometimes I'm not sure how my own mind works.

And with the 30x30 coming up soon, I'm not sure when I'll get to wear those new pieces! I don't know that I'm brave enough to include new items in my 30.

I have a few things to tell you about!

First, my super special friend Kimberly has opened her own etsy shop selling the MOST adorable skirts! She can make them sized for toddlers and girls or for YOU! Please go visit her blog post about it and let her know if you'd be interested in purchasing a skirt. They're really quite fabulous!

Second, I don't think I've mentioned this yet but please remember to vote for Collette in the E.L.F. Beauty at All Ages Model Contest! She is the total package of brains and beauty both inside and out and deserves to win this more than anyone I know.

Third, I've been having so much fun lately getting to know some of you better through emails and Facebook and Formspring. I'd love to chat with even more of you so please get in touch with me! My email is {aworkingmomscloset at gmail dot com}, click here to find me on Facebook, here for Twitter and here to ask me anything you want on Formspring. I love the community and relationships created through blogging!

That's it for me, hope you all have a great day and I hope to hear from you!

  1. You may not have planned it but it totally worked out. I love the cut of the cardigan and the shirt sleeves popping out from the shorter sweater sleeves. I've been seeing this recently and I need to try it.

  2. I like the unexpected pop of blue as I scrolled through! I've been looking at a couple skirts in that style, but honestly, I've been a little afraid that they will shift around and be a little too exposing! Am I just too paranoid?

I do enjoy days when I put on an outfit that maybe doesn't quite hit my happy scale, but at least I didn't take HOURS pondering over it! Today will probably be one of those days here, and I'll probably not look as pulled together as you!

  4. I think you should add one new item to 30 for 30. To make it fun. My new jean skirt is going in my 30 for 30. I also plan on wearing it to work Friday. Don't you just love when I outfit goes together.

I saw the cute skirt on Kim blog this morning. Super Cute.

I also been voting everyday for Collette.

  8. I was in the same boat as you this morning. All thought of what I was going to wear went out the window when I woke up late and then realized I needed to stop for gas and would have to park far away from my office. I think I did okay. I hope you have fun doing the 30 for 30. I am still too scared to try it out because I am afriad I will lose weight and need to buy something to replace something that gets big. 30 outfits is a long time for me. Good luck!

  9. What an unusual shape for a skirt - I haven't seen it at Target but I'm going to keep my eyes open for it! So pretty.

And you look adorable when you belt stuff because you have a cute, tiny waist. I look like Spongebob. : )

  11. I think it looks fabulous! Bringing some summer fun into this dreary winter. I think it's very unique and inspiring to see the darker colors of a bright print brought out.

Why not throw in a new item for the 30x30? It'll give you opportunity to really think it over. Try it on with some of your "not-new" pieces and get a feel for how it fits.

  14. Oooh, so you will being 30 for 30, too? I actually love adding new pieces to my 30 mix. It's a good excercise to figure out how to incorporate an article of clothing into your wardrobe.

Cute colors in totday's post. Love it!

  15. I like the skirt! It's cool. Like the bottom part of you is going on holiday and the top half still knows how to be cool at work!

  16. I love all your accessories...great skirt...
I made the mistake of putting a few new pieces into my 30 last time...since I was not familiar with them, I had trouble remixing them

  19. I do that all of the time. I will be leaning one way on an outfit, then completely fall off in the other direction at the last minute. That's why I'm such a serial over-packer...I need to make sure I have options :)

Planned or not, the outfit is a great one...I love pink and brown together!
