I've worn this outfit before to church but didn't photograph it, so I figured I might as well do that. :) Wearing a belt like this is WAY out of my comfort zone, because I feel like it highlights my hips as the widest part of my body. I really do like it though and might have to find a few more belts like this.
Belts are awesome.
Look, I can do the blogger pigeon toe pose! :) |
The pop of purple in the flower makes me smile. I love little pops of unexpected color. It's a happy thing.
Today's outfit:
Skirt: Burlington
Tank: Target
Cardigan: Target
Belt: Dots
Flower Pin: From my MIL (actually given to my daughter, but, well...you know...)
Necklace: Gift from the very sweet and super gorgeous ML
Heels: Beall's
That purple is great! You don't expect it but it looks really good!! And hey, the belt works! It doesn't make you look wide at all.
ReplyDeleteI REALLY like this outfit!
I love the polka dots, and the purple flower makes the whole outfit pop! Your hair looks fantastic as well by the way :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE your hair!!!! It's absolutely gorgeous! I cannot wait until my hair grows out and only hope it looks this good :)
ReplyDeleteYour polka dot skirt is adorable and I love the pop of color with the purple flower belt! Anything purple makes me happy :)
Have a great day,
Heather
We can always steal things (borrow) back in the NAME OF FASHION, no? hahaha.
ReplyDeleteYou look great...love all the accessories here..especially the belt/w flower.

I love the skirt. You couldn't catch me dead with a giant purple flower on my waist. Because, you know what would happen right...I'd be wearing that thing, and it would migrate to my BUTT. And then...I'd have a giant purple flower on my ass-ets all day.
ReplyDeleteThis whole outfit is just fabulous!
ReplyDeleteReally cute outfit! The belt and pop of purple make is so much fun. I have found some great belts in at Goodwill, resale, and Ross...you might check them out if you want to beef up your belts...they are great and slenderizing. Thanks for the sweet comments about my scary weekend...still recovering a little bit...
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit! It makes me smile just to look at it. I'm sure your daughter doesn't mind if you "borrow" her flower, it looks so good with that belt I'm sure she understands.
ReplyDeleteOh, I think the belt looks super super cute like that! I love the purple flower and the yellow and white polka dots are so much fun!
ReplyDeleteI didn't do anything fun at all this weekend. We thought about it. Then we ventured outside and melted within about 5 minutes. It's just so darn hot and humid!
WOohoo! Great hair cut! And I know everyone is talking about the purple or the belt, but that cardigan looks great on you!
ReplyDeletehi , Melissa! you look very, very pretty!!! adorable outfit! i love your smile!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a cute outfit & your belt is awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute skirt. I absolutely love it.
ReplyDeleteMel! Your hair looks great! This is a very cute outfit. I think there's nothing better to elevate my mood than to add pops of color to a neutral palette (when I'm not feeling all over color). As for belts, I am a belt hoarder. Can't have too many!

Super cute, Mel! I love yellow and purple together.
ReplyDeleteAnd before you know it, the princess will be borrowing from your closet on a daily basis, so I think you're owed a few raids on hers :)

I love, love, love it! So fun and feminine! You look amazing - as usual.
ReplyDeleteI love the flower and the belt and it does NOT make your hips look big, you silly girl! :)
ReplyDeleteThis inspires me to play with my black and yellow polkadot dress and see what kind of fun I can have with it. You are an inspiration win again, ma'am.
ReplyDeleteSuch fun polka dots...love the belt lower on hips like that...you look great !!
ReplyDeleteThat belt is fun, and it definitely doesn't make your hips look wide.
ReplyDeleteThe skirt is really cute and the belt gives it a nice accent! I don't thinks makes your hips look wide at all!
ReplyDeleteThis is so so cute, it does not make your hips look big. The belt actually looks like part of the top. It actually makes your waist look smaller with the white cardigan. Great job on the visual balance.
ReplyDeletecuuuute!! I feel like I've been out of touch again-- you got a hair cut, yes?? I love it! The angles are different that you typically get, yes? It looks great!
ReplyDeleteI must be late to the game, but did you do something to your hair? I looks great!
ReplyDeleteI love the pop of yellow in your skirt!
I was wondering the same thing as Lisa - your hair looks even better than usual today!
ReplyDeleteThis is a super cute look. Also your hair looks great.
ReplyDeleteThat belt and flower are really interesting. Not at all too hippy! It looks sort of mod and fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteHmmm...I think I missed this little number. I'm loving the fun-ness of this one.
