Daily MelWear: Changing It Up
I feel like I need a change. So I wore pants. Who knows, maybe I'll cut my hair off next.
This shirt is a Salvation Army find from over the weekend. I found a few really nice pieces that I'll get around to wearing soon. I'm the type that has to take the tags off and wash new clothes right away, and wear them as soon as possible too.
Hey, I know it's still a couple months away, but I wanted to remind those of you who participated last year, and to tell all of you who are new readers, about the Blogging for Breast Cancer Awareness challenge in October. If you're not sure what it is, click here to read about it and give some thought into whether you'd like to participate this year. I'll probably start accepting sign-ups in September.
Today's outfit:

I love the way your blouse breaks up the suit! You are as lovely as always!
ReplyDeleteI love the top! great find :)
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable! I love the blouse and the fact it is thrifted makes it even better...I need to head over to Goodwill and look for some prints.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find on your blouse! Its gorgeous! Like the pants too, sometimes just a little change like wearing pants can make you feel better. I would love to do the blog for breast cancer awareness. My grandmother passed away in march from breast cancer.
ReplyDeleteI must say, you totally rock this outfit :)
ReplyDeleteI love watching your blog daily, you always leave with your cheery face good mood to me
You look so cheery and bright today. I like it a lot. And it's thrifted??? Even better!!! I wore Salv Army shoes yesterday. I don't find that many things that I like there. The wife and kid find a lot that they like, but mostly there is old Grandma stuff at my SA. Oh well, I rock the consignment stores out here, though!!
ReplyDeletePants are a totaly different look for you - but I like them! As for changes----hmmm---Is there a color you don't often wear. Maybe you can start throwing it in more often than normal. Or start pulling your hair half back for a new look. Or...try the SIDE BRAID!!!

It's good to change it up sometimes! You look fantastic in pants! I love that print, and love how you toned it down just a bit to make it more work appropriate by adding the cardi overtop :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome blouse! It totally brightens up your suit.
ReplyDeleteI can completely relate..I don't wear pants very often either- prefer skirts and dresses BUT when you find a great pair...you must wear them and celebrate! lol.
ReplyDeleteYou look fab...love the dynamic colors/print of that blouse!

I just got my hair cut yesterday! A tiny bit shorter, some layers, and bangs!! I like your top!
ReplyDeleteYou're so cute, Melissa! In that first picture, you just look so happy and pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love how you wore the shirt flowing out of the cardigan!
Very cute. I wore pants the other day, too!

This is so adorable!
ReplyDeleteyou are so cute! I almost wore pants today, but I couldn't fathom putting on pants (even linen ones) when the temps are supposed to be in the upper 90's with a heat index of 110!
ReplyDeleteyou go girl!
I have to take tags off and get stuff into the washing machine right away. It's a bad sign if something languishes in my closet, tagged. :)

You look amazing in pants. This whole outfit is so polished and beautiful. I love your shirt, great find. Can't wait to see more!
ReplyDeleteThose pants look great on you...love how you belted the cropped sweater over the blouse!! Looking very professional chic today!
ReplyDeleteCute! I enjoy pants mostly in the winter time (of course). If you're looking for comfort, New York & Co has the best pants. If you're looking for style and fit, I love Express and The Limited. You have to catch a sale or find them at a resale shop like Plato's Closet, but they are worth it.
ReplyDeleteChange is always good and I think you look great in these slacks! What a pretty top that you found at Salvation Army! I think it looks great and hopefully isn't too much for your boss to handle ;)
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! That shirt is a rad find and so you. I love the layering in this outfit, too.

Ya, I definitely get the "needing a change", but mine is specifically the hair (my hairdresser up and quit just as I was going to chop off a foot of hair!)
ReplyDeleteAnd we'll have to see about the pink challenge - if I'm starting a new job, I think they might thing I'm a bit batty if I wear pink every day. And if they're going to think I'm batty, I hope it's for something other than wearing pink.
Ooh! Very chic. I think you look great in pants. They make you look very tall. I'm missing pants right now. As much as I've embraced dresses and skirts, I love trousers. That print on the top is also really fun. Sort of mod.
ReplyDeletethis is an awesome outfit. maybe it's all the black with the white belt and that gorgeous blouse! it's just super flattering and elongating. you look beautiful!

I love the proportions on this! The cropped jacket over the bold print really works. And I love your hair here. Side-swept bangs look really cute on you!
ReplyDeleteWoo! I'm definitely liking this change! Pants more often!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou look so beautiful!!! I love dresses and skirts on you because they're your thing, but you look amazing in pants, too! Isn't it like a zillion degrees down there, though? PHEW!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for BBCA! We'll see how many workout tops I can find with pink in them! :)
I'm not much of a pants-wearer either, but it's nice to switch it up sometimes. I love the belted cardi with your button down shirt!
ReplyDeleteI can't remember the last time I wore pants, unless leggings with a long tunic counts (Somehow I don't think so!) I love how you punched up this outfit with the joyful, bright pattern and the belt!
ReplyDeleteI think you can/should absolutely wear pants more often. They look great on you! (says the girl who hasn't worn dress pants in two months, but whatever...)
ReplyDeleteFunny I thought is she really wearing pants as I saw the picture and then you wrote something to that effect in the first sentence.
ReplyDelete(Sorry I'm way behind on blog reading. vacation and rushing before vaca did that to me... time to try to catch up on 18 posts of yours + that many from others...)
