Daily MelWear: Pink and Orange Zebra

I figured if I got away with a little bit of animal print yesterday for the meeting, I could probably get away with a little bit more today when we don't have any meetings.

I've been wanting to do the orange and pink combo for a while now (so fresh and pretty!), but I didn't own anything orange. Enter: Target. Oh, Target. I go in there for some body wash and walk out with two belts and three shirts. At least the shirts were on clearance. Seriously, this has GOT to stop.

I'm not entirely convinced that I like this outfit. I've had this white skirt for years, but it's a little too big, it sags after wearing for just a few minutes and gets all lumpy and bumpy and wrinkly. This might have worked better with a  black pencil skirt. Thoughts to ponder for next time...

Hope you've all had a great week so far! It's been a busy one here with trying to get everything into our database so that we can capture the data to convert it to our new system. The due date for entering data is TODAY. The conversion will take the next couple of weeks, and then we go live with new submissions on April 26th, the week of my birthday! {Side note: I just found out that April 26th is ML's birthday! Yay!}

Have a wonderful Wednesday, everyone!

Today's outfit:
Zebra Blouse: Ross? Not sure. Can't really remember
White Skirt: Um...can't remember where I got this one either but I think it's a Gap skirt
Pink Cami: Charlotte Russe
Orange Belt: Target
Black Pumps: Target

  4. Love the orange pink combo with that great zebra skirt... I love target...I am on my way there right now, I always leave with more than I planned to!

  5. I cannot walk into Target without having heart palpitations. I've taken a Target hiatus, because I will either buy too much candy or too many clothes. And by too many, I mean anything.

I'm liking the combo and the subtle mix of orange and pink. I agree that the black pencil skirt may have been a better choice, but you probably have a brightly hued sheath dress you can layer underneath for an option, as well. Right?

  6. It really works! I';m trying to work out if the black bit is part of the top, or the skirt! I like the layered effect anyway!

  7. I was eying those colored skinny belts at Target the other day. It is way to easy to buy things there.

  8. I think a black pencil skirt would look good with this, but the white skirt makes it a little more easy and warm-weather-feeling, ya know?
BTW, Loft has 40% off sale stuff right now! (And I know this because I bought a muted grey leopard print top last night!)

  9. Target sucks me in, too. I'm having a hard time not purchasing one of those fake-leather messenger bags there. If you can get past the funny smell they're super chic! :)

  11. Pink and orange, eh? I tried that last week with a patterned tank, but I ended up not layering the shirts right and the pink disappeared on me!

  12. Love the belt! Very cute! I like the sleeves on that top too! Really fabulous outfit! :)

  13. I think this outfit cuts you up. A black pencil skirt would have helped. I like the subtle pink and orange additions though. Your hair looks fabulous today. You make me want to trim my bangs up (trying to grow this mess out!)

I don't have a target close enough to frequent and I can usually resist looking at the clothes. I'm killed by the target new-stock in my Goodwill though. I've grabbed at least two pairs of jeans and a brand new Converse dress on my last trip.

  16. I have such a love hate relationship with Target. Well, I mean I love it. But I can't walk out of there without spending an arm and a leg. I end up with a little something from all the departments, some clothes, all sorts of beauty products, and I love their workout clothes!! Ok, this started as my diatribe against Target and now all I want is to go there!! This is totally backfiring.

  17. I love Target! The first thing I go to is the dollar spot-- you never know what you might want/not really need from there. Hehe I love their seasonal clearance things.

  18. I love how you tamed the animal print with the two colors in it, neatly color-blocked.

  19. Like your shiny Zebras... Here's my mini-rebellion: I had to wear suits to work once upon a time but instead of a blouse I wore classy tshirts. I also wore a watch over my wrist tattoo until I sneaked a peak at my boss's tattoo. After that I was pretty sure she couldn't say anything to me so off came the watch! My cop uncle would always carry and use a pink pen, just to be rebellious!

  20. Zebras would be so much cooler if they were all pink and orange :)

PS: I'm in your state right now! Unfortunately, I'm up in the panhandle, though, and not close enough to visit :(
