Daily MelWear: Monday Flowers

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers on Thursday! Driving through those storms and tornado watches was no fun at all, but we made it there and back in one piece! I do have some behind-the-scenes photos (they're not great, but they're photos), so I'm planning to put them together with some before pictures into a post with my weight-loss story.

Speaking of putting things together, I think I've decided on a name for my new professional spotlight feature! The first blogger to be featured will know what it is before anyone else, but the rest of you will have to wait until the first interview goes live. I'm getting a few more things put in place and then we should be ready to roll soon! I'm excited!

Just in case you couldn't tell from my outfit, my boss is out of town this week! She's at a conference, which gives us a little bit more liberty in attire. This is an outfit that I would have worn to work before all of our dress code discussions but now I think it's a little too casual for my boss's preference, so I saved it for a day when she isn't here and I won't see anyone other than the two girls that work with me. One of them is also bending the rules just a bit along with me.

How was your weekend? Tell me one thing about your weekend that makes you happy. GO!

Have a great day, everyone!

Today's outfit:
Skirt: Ross (actually a dress, seen in this interview here)
Black Tank: Kohl's
Black Cardigan: Kohl's
Black Sandals: Beall's
Turquoise Necklace: Beya

  2. Stand strong. And if you're going to fall...fall together!!!! I love it!!! Glad you had a good weekend.

We went and saw an amazing performance of 3 Eric Carle books this weekend at our local theater with L. We saw, The Little Cloud, The Mixed-Up Chameleon, and, of course, The Very Hungry Caterpillar. It was sooooo amazing. It made it well worth the $38 I had to pay for JUST mine and Jennifer's tickets. L got hers free from school.

  3. I love that skirt! and I honestly cannot see how that would be office inappropriate!

I had lost of fun yesterday going to a friend's birthday party, which was afternoon tea with chanpagne! It was bubbly and fun!

  4. Proof I've been in school for far too long: when I read your boss was away, so you were relaxing the dress code, I immediately thought: "But what will the substitute say". Right, they trust adults to work when not supervised!!

I'm so excited to be the first... can't wait to read the questions.

My weekend was awesome for 2 reasons, and I really can't narrow it down to one: first, I was away for most of the week, so I got back to Scott on Friday and I'd missed him terribly. Second, my parents decided to drive me back at the last minute, so they could see my give a presentation at a conference.

  10. You look lovely! Take it easy with that weather. We're being hit with it now. I'm not even sure I'll be able to get outfit photos this week.

I had the best weekend out with my friends - eating tasty food, browsing art galleries, failed games of pingpong. Not to mention a fantastic thrifting trip.

  13. Okay, you look so lovely here. I really like this floral dress/skirt and that necklace is great. So glad you were able to wear it to work since your boss was not around.

Hmm...I think my weekend was busy but I got to hang out at my friend's house for her daughter's 3rd birthday and the kids really had a good time playing and I ate a lot :)

  14. Your floral skirt is so bright and cheery. So I have been a bit behind I assume the talks on the dress code did not go to your adventage? I am sorry about that.
My weekend Joy: due to my parents taking the kids spending an entire morning on the couch in PJs with my hubby! That NEVER happens with the kids.
Thanks for the nice comment by the way.

  16. That is so funny that you are all plotting - and you are still dressed BETTER than nearly everyone I work with! There are people that wear jeans with holes and t-shirts.... OH WAIT - THATS OUR CEO! Hahahaha... :) Have fun playing while the "cat's" away. Cheers!

  22. Where I interned people would break the dress code when the manager was out. Well not really break the dress code but break the managers' preferences even though the other manager 15 ft down the hall approved of that attire any day anyway.

They also called days when my manager was out "in house vacation days"

  25. HI! You're gorgeous!!! This is probably one of my favorite outfits of all time on you. (Do I get a weekly quota for how many times I'm allowed to say that?)

SO glad you stayed safe last week. I was so out of the loop I didn't even know about the storms!
