You know those blogs where the writer seems to wear an entirely new outfit every single day and never wears anything twice?
This isn't that blog. :) The skirt and top are both pieces that I bought pre-weightloss and I had them altered after I hit my goal weight.
I've worn pretty much this same outfit (with a few very little differences) before but it's been long enough that I can't remember when it was, so I'm guessing (and um, hoping) that you can't either. If you do remember, pretend you don't. :)
My annual evaluation is scheduled for this afternoon and I figured this was a simple enough outfit that will hopefully please my boss. I guess we'll find out later! If you're so inclined to pray, it will be at 2PM. So start now.
Heh.
Oh, and guess what? I'm one of several bloggers featured on Colleen's blog! Go check it out!
Today's outfit:
Black Skirt: Kohl'sTop (actually one piece): Um...I can't remember now
Red Sandals: Payless
Red Belt: Salvation Army
Loving this! Nothing like a pair of red kicks to make you feel good. (I'm wearing Payless again today too!) Good luck today!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Taylor. There is something about the color red that brings a bit of confidence to your posture. The pops of red and turquoise playing off of the black backdrop really is nice. I like this look on you! Maybe you should sell jewelry like me so you don't have to worry about the dress code and are free to let your personality and style shine!
ReplyDeletewhat I love best about reading style blogs like yours is that you don't buy new clothes all the time but you look fresh with each outfit! that's the fun part of "remixing" clothes, right?
ReplyDeleteI love that last photo - you look so cute and those red strappy sandals are perfect :)
Girl I'm a remixer all around. I have wear 92 item on my blog twice and some three time. There nothing wrong with that. Great look and Good Luck today.

Love the shirt... and the pops of red!
ReplyDeleteLove layering blouses under dresses, such a pretty look!! And your sandals are adorable, lucky ducky you're having sandal weather. Hehe, and I too can relate about the not wearing something new all the time. I'm proud to say that this girl re-mixes the c-r-a-p out of her closet. So I say go girl! xx veronika
ReplyDeleteI don't remember the outfit.
ReplyDeleteI love the red sandals. (and I don't even like sandals)
I figure as long as an outfit's not on the main page of the ol' blog I'm free to repeat away. I think it's more fun to have stuff I like to wear the heck out of anyway.
ReplyDeleteYou look cute today, per usual. :) The red accents, as has been noted above, are perfect!
Jenn
The red accessories are a great punch of color! Good luck with your evaluation - not that I think you need luck ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit Mel!! This dress fits you FABULOUS! I really love the shape and length for you! Hey, if it ain't broken don't fix it right? Go ahead and wear the same outfits, they look just as fabulous the second time around ;)

Good luck with your evaluations. I like seeing other bloggers re-wear outfits, since I do it too!
ReplyDeleteSimple but stylish...love those red sandals and fun pattern on your shirt!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck today!!
Ooo! I thought it was a jumper dress but a skirt and top makes it even more versatile. If something worked the first time why wouldn't you repeat it? There's no shame in knowing what you like and look good in! Best of luck at your review... They are lucky to have you!
ReplyDeleteI had someone ask me once why I don't post links to all the items I'm wearing - I would love to if all the items I wear are new and I can find the exact thing online, but I don't have that kind of budget, haha!
ReplyDeleteThe best thing about a fashion blogger to me is how they mix and rework their clothes - you may have worn all these pretty pieces before, Melissa, but I can't tell, because you always wear your things in different ways!
That is what has inspired me most personally - I always try to put different pieces together and think outside my style box!
So cute...I love the way you popped the red!!
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing!! I hope your evaluation went well!
ReplyDeleteLove the red shoes. Would love to think I helped inspire the red in your today. :) Hahahaha
ReplyDeleteBut this looks good. I have a purple dress (actually the one I wore to get married in) that I keep wanting to wear but its still too cold and I don't have a blouse to wear with it. But I think that a belt across it and a nice blouse underneath would do....hmmmmm More thoughts for what we were talking about yesterday, I guess. :)
Love the red sandals! I love that dress on you. It's perfect. It's silly to assume people don't rewear the same clothes or same outfits. I do. They don't always appear duplicated on the blog, but I'll totally rewear what I know works.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your evaluation! I'm sure it will be beyond 100% positive. :)
ReplyDeleteCute shoes! And those people are nuts. And not normal. We aren't movie stars here, people, we are perfectly normal and it makes us better for it because we are able to mix and match like nobody's business! You do an awesome job at this.
ReplyDeleteYou look great! I love the pop of red in the belt and shoes. I love seeing all the ways you remix your clothes, it's truly inspiring. Good luck with your evaluation today!
ReplyDeletelove the pop of red...sometimes outfits are so great you have to repeat:)
ReplyDeleteI DEFINITELY rewear pieces on my blog..usually try to mix it up and style them differently..but who the heck can afford a different outfit EVERYDAY? and who has room to store it all? lol.
Hope your review went great adn have a wonderful easter weekend.
C
Love this outfit...very 'review appropriate':)
ReplyDeleteSo, how did it go??
Love how you paired the red belt with the turquoise top! It's a great unexpected combination. - Katy

great remix!! i love the colorful shirt.
ReplyDeletecute & little
I'm not that kind of blogger either! Hope the evaluation went well and that you threw together an easter egg hunt for the little ones!!
ReplyDeletexo, Ashley
oh cool you were mentioned on another blog! congrats! i like seeing the same piece! it's important and so REAL because none of us are celebrities who wear things only once, right? okay, maybe some people do. haha.
ReplyDeletehope your evaluation went well!

I hope your evaluation went well, if it was for the outfit I think you should have received a great evaluation and a raise ;)
ReplyDeleteI really like that last picture where you do a little joy dance :)
Those are great red shoes. Did you ever get the yellow ones you wanted? You look great in red. A few posts after this you are in that rockin tan suit with a red shirt. Great super classy professional look.
