Today is my "Friday"! My daughter gets so excited when she hears anyone talking about Fridays because that means I get to stay with her, since I work four day work weeks. I love *real* Fridays with my girl!
Okay so I like this outfit in theory...but something got lost in the execution of it, maybe it's the cowl neck in the blouse or the sleeves or I don't know. My original thought was to wear the yellow ribbon belt that came with the blouse, then at the last minute I thought of my pink belt and decided that would be more fun.
Usually we get to wear jeans on Thursdays and be more casual, but we have a meeting to discuss the database transfer and conversion to our new system, plus we need to deliver board meeting packets today instead of next week due to our annual spring conference on Tuesday. The good news is that with our new system being web-based, we shouldn't have to deliver packets ever again because they can access everything online! YAY!!!
All that being said, I have to finish getting these packets ready and start getting the binders for the conference organized!
Hope you all have a spectacular Thursday!
Today's outfit:
Gray Dress: Ross
Yellow Blouse: Target
Pink Belt: Salvation Army
Gray Wedges: DSW
This is one of my very favorite dresses that you own. It is SO perfect on you and your shape looks a million times more amazing than usual (which it always looks amazing). I agree that perhaps the cowl neck is the thing that might have sent the wonder gods spinning, but all in all, it totally works. And I'm really glad you pulled the pink belt! More colors are funner! Yep, funner.
ReplyDeleteI almost think you could do a plain boat neck or crew neck under this because of the flower detail.
I love the Color combo. Have a great day tomorrow with you daughter.

LOL I thought you were gonig to break out in that "Friday" song :P
ReplyDeleteLove the little pops of colour on this one - does this meet the dress code?
Have a great day tomorrow!
The dress looks great on you! I love how you paired it with the brighter colors.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the cowl neck looks bad with that dress and I adore the color combo. Have a great 3 day weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat dress is really flattering, and I'm jealous of your four day work weeks!
ReplyDeleteI like it! Jumper dresses are some of my favourite because you really can change it up every time!
ReplyDeleteLove that dress...fits you so well...great mix of the yellow and pink touches. I hope you and your lady have an amazing 3 day weekend!!
ReplyDeleteyou look great in that dress! what a great staple. I got that same Target blouse but in the blue/black print - I have yet to wear it.
ReplyDeleteI really like this outfit, but I think a different belt might have worked better. Normally I'm all for mixing colors, but maybe it's the shades of yellow and pink? I don't know. Regardless, happy friday to you!
ReplyDeleteFour day work weeks sound heavenly! Lucky duck, haha! But you work hard, so you definitely deserve it. And though you don't think your combo works, I think it definitely does! The yellow is so refreshing with the gray, and the pink is unexpected and fun.
ReplyDeleteYou are being too hard on yourself!! This is a good look for work! I am so glad to hear that you get to spend Fridays with your daughter...that's special and she will always cherish it!!
ReplyDeleteI think this is simple but pretty. Maybe try the green belt next time
ReplyDeleteWednesdays is my day with my youngest and I always look forward to it, such a special time when life is non stop work.
ReplyDeleteI really truly think this outfit looks amazing on you. The colours and shapes just seem to work so perfectly together, I love it.
I like the flower detail on the dress. Dresses like that are so great because you can change the whole look depending on what you layer under.
ReplyDeleteI think a collared shirt may have worked better under this- or maybe a cardigan over it? I definitely think the neckline may be what is giving you trouble.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is adorable and fits you well, though!
Love how you brightened the dark grey with pops of yellow and pink...perfectly spring!
ReplyDeleteGreat look and happy FRIDAY!

Cute dress!! I think the execution turned out great! Have a wonderful day tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteThe subtle mix of colors is divine! I love this look!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely like the pink belt with the dress. The matching might have been too predictable. You know how bloggers hate that. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I hope you have a great day with your daughter tomorrow. It is so nice to bond one on one.
I really enjoy Saturday mornings when my husband and I each take a kid (we alternate every week). Give us the opportunity to totally focus on them.

Your use of color here is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteHmm, I don't know, I think this really works! No execution error. I love the color mixing and the volume in the dress. Adorable! :) Hope you have a great day with your girl!
ReplyDeleteI think it looks fun. The pink is the perfect pop of color. And I love the little rosettes on the dress.
ReplyDeleteyou have such an amazing wardrobe! love this dress =)

So adorably awesome, Mel! Good call on the pink belt, too. I love pink and yellow together :)
ReplyDeleteUgh, I too have been trying to catch up on my Google Reader for DAYS and DAYS. Damn you, work. For making me actual work. Anyhoo, I adore this whole ensemble - the yellow/grey/pink - totes adorbs as Stacy London would say!
