Daily MelWear: Gray, Pink, Yellow

Today is my "Friday"! My daughter gets so excited when she hears anyone talking about Fridays because that means I get to stay with her, since I work four day work weeks. I love *real* Fridays with my girl!

Okay so I like this outfit in theory...but something got lost in the execution of it, maybe it's the cowl neck in the blouse or the sleeves or I don't know. My original thought was to wear the yellow ribbon belt that came with the blouse, then at the last minute I thought of my pink belt and decided that would be more fun.

Usually we get to wear jeans on Thursdays and be more casual, but we have a meeting to discuss the database transfer and conversion to our new system, plus we need to deliver board meeting packets today instead of next week due to our annual spring conference on Tuesday. The good news is that with our new system being web-based, we shouldn't have to deliver packets ever again because they can access everything online! YAY!!!

All that being said, I have to finish getting these packets ready and start getting the binders for the conference organized!

Hope you all have a spectacular Thursday!

Today's outfit:
Gray Dress: Ross
Yellow Blouse: Target
Pink Belt: Salvation Army
Gray Wedges: DSW

  1. This is one of my very favorite dresses that you own. It is SO perfect on you and your shape looks a million times more amazing than usual (which it always looks amazing). I agree that perhaps the cowl neck is the thing that might have sent the wonder gods spinning, but all in all, it totally works. And I'm really glad you pulled the pink belt! More colors are funner! Yep, funner.

I almost think you could do a plain boat neck or crew neck under this because of the flower detail.

  10. I really like this outfit, but I think a different belt might have worked better. Normally I'm all for mixing colors, but maybe it's the shades of yellow and pink? I don't know. Regardless, happy friday to you!

  11. Four day work weeks sound heavenly! Lucky duck, haha! But you work hard, so you definitely deserve it. And though you don't think your combo works, I think it definitely does! The yellow is so refreshing with the gray, and the pink is unexpected and fun.

  15. I like the flower detail on the dress. Dresses like that are so great because you can change the whole look depending on what you layer under.

  16. I think a collared shirt may have worked better under this- or maybe a cardigan over it? I definitely think the neckline may be what is giving you trouble.

The dress is adorable and fits you well, though!

  20. Definitely like the pink belt with the dress. The matching might have been too predictable. You know how bloggers hate that. :)

Oh, I hope you have a great day with your daughter tomorrow. It is so nice to bond one on one.
I really enjoy Saturday mornings when my husband and I each take a kid (we alternate every week). Give us the opportunity to totally focus on them.
