I have to be honest...the red and purple combo scares me a little. It makes me think of the Red Hat Society and I'm just not there yet. However, I do kind of like the two colors together and figured I'd try it with this skirt.
I wore this to church on Sunday since I figured the combo would be a little much for my office. I'd originally wanted to pair the skirt with my purple sleeveless top, but I wore that earlier in the week and hadn't done laundry yet. I'm not sure if the two satins are a little over the top together, but I went with it anyway.
I actually napped in this outfit too. I was too exhausted to get changed. Rest assured, I did change before I went out that night, though.
Hey, guess what?! I was featured on Kimberly's blog yesterday as part of her Prim & Prismatic series! Go check it out!
And have a fabulous Tuesday!!!
Today's outfit:
Skirt: Salvation Army
Purple Blouse: Charlotte Russe

ReplyDeleteThis is a cute look.
ReplyDeleteHave a good Day.
This is really pretty!! I was just thinking earlier today that I liked the look of red and purple together. =)
ReplyDeleteI might have switched out the top, but I think the skirt would be perfect for any ice cream getting, man-meeting, social event going there might have been!
ReplyDeleteYou look fabulous. I agree a brave colour combination but some times you have to take risks to get an amazing outfit.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great color combo! You look so cute and happy in your pics, it always makes me smile :)

oh mah Gah, girl...
ReplyDeleteWhat is UP with you and the silky clothes? You're like worthy Freddy Mercury or something!
Red and purple...great choices for fall! The darker, rich colors look good on you!
ReplyDeleteI think it is a fun mix of colors! I agree it's very fallish!
ReplyDeleteI like the colour combo but your boss will have a fit if you wear 2 shiny pieces together :)
ReplyDeleteI am so thankful my dress code is mostly self imposed
Such a great color combo. Love how you added the necklace under the collar!
ReplyDeleteI think the colors came out great. I'm usually not a fan of purple and red, but I think the color tones matched up perfectly, and you didn't clutter more color into it. The black accessories are perfect.
ReplyDeleteHave you lost weight?? Because you are looking soo good!!! Cute brooch!
ReplyDeleteI also think of the Red Hat Society when I think of those two colors because the older women I used to work with were all members lol...but your top is a darker purple so it's all good :)
ReplyDeletePurple and red are one of my absolute all time favourites... I love feeling like a decadent royal princess!
ReplyDeleteI am also afraid of red and purple. Less so now than I used to be. For the past 4 years one of the 2 color combos for our bedroom is red and purple. (we have 2 comforters and 2 sets of sheets so sometimes that's not the combo. 1 comforter is white. the other is red. one set of sheets are purple and the other are red) My husband loves red and purple. I love the colors independently but am scared to put them together.
