Daily MelWear: Stayin' Neutral

I've been wanting to try contrasting neutrals for a while, only because I've been so adamently against it for so long.  I don't know why.  I've always felt that if I wore a cream colored shirt, I should wear brown accessories.

This shirt is another one that I'm considering getting rid of.  I do like it because it has silver stripes and the idea of it is pretty, but I don't think it fits me very well and the material is very thin. I saw it in my closet last night, thought of my white skirt and then said to myself, hey! I can wear a black belt and black shoes to try the whole contrasting neutral thing! Whee!

I have issues. I know.

{Random side note: have any of you iPhone users updated to the new iOS 4 software yet? If so, what do you think?}

Today's outfit:

White Skirt: Target? I think?

Tan Blouse: Target

Black Belt: Macy's (part of a dress)

Black Pumps: Wal-Mart (clearance)

 So what's your opinion - yea or nay on the shirt? What about the skirt (in all of its wrinkled glory)?

  1. nay on the shirt. you should not wear that color. It washes you out.

    Said by your best friend who loves you very much. heh.

  2. I agree with you - the idea of the skirt is good, in that it's white - easy, breezy, very summery, and that it's trumpet-cut, which is very flattering on a curvy body.

    I like the colors, and I don't think that this oatmeal colored top washes you out. Maybe it does in different lighting - it is a notoriously challenging color to wear.

    It appears that your skin tone is quite different from that color, so it looks fine to me!

    And hey - take this with all the love and respect with which it's intended - what kind of bra are you wearing? Are you sure it fits well? A more supportive bra will help create space between your bust line and your waist line.
