Daily MelWear: It Started Out Purple...

I bought a purple rosebud embellished tank at Forever 21 last weekend (to replace my old purple tank that I got bleach all over).

I've been very excited to wear it.  It's super cute.

And then as we got ready to walk out the door, I noticed some stains on it.  From what, you ask?  Yeah.  I have no idea.

Grrrr.

Thank goodness my pink tank was clean.

Daily MelWear: Name That Post

I have a few different names for this one.  Jailbird.  Plain Jane. In Need of Inspiration...or Cake.

Mmmm...cake.

Originally I was going to pair this shirt with my black pencil skirt...but then I decided that I didn't feel like shaving my legs.  Is that TMI?  Sorry.

I considered white pants...but no.  I wanted to be comfortable today.  For color, I threw on my green necklace/earrings and my wine rosebud pumps.

Not my favorite outfit.  But I'm fully clothed, and that has to count for something, right?

Just smile and nod...

Today's outfit:

Striped Shirt: Macy's

Black Pants: Charlotte Russe (pre-pregnancy)

Wine Pumps: DSW (clearance)

Green Necklace and Earrings: Beya

Daily MelWear: Pink and Green

First of all, thank you so much for your comments and encouragement yesterday, on the blog and through Facebook.  On a day when I was feeling blah, you all made me feel a lot better.  Thanks!!!

These two pieces, the skirt and the t-shirt, have proven to be two of the most difficult items for me to style.  They'd probably be incredibly easy to some other women but for me...not so much.

The skirt is a hand-me-down from a co-worker.  She bought it from a thrift store and never wore it, so she asked if I wanted it.  I really love the detail on the bottom hem of the skirt, it makes me feel so mature and classy! The t-shirt was a birthday gift from another co-worker, the same one who gave me the necklace and earrings that I wear a whole lot.

The skirt is difficult because of the texture and the shade of green.  I feel a little bit boring and predictable pairing it with a cream top but seriously, I've got nothin' better. Originally I was going to wear a fuschia cardigan belted over top but when I saw the shirt and skirt alone, I kind of liked the silhouette so I left it alone. I threw on the pink necklace and earrings in hopes of adding a little more color and interest since I didn't wear the cardigan. Did it work?
I find the shirt difficult because it's blousy and doesn't really do anything to flatter my shape, but I really like the neckline detail and the fact that it's your basic white/cream tee.  Plus it's just comfy.

I also had on a cream belt over the skirt but the shade didn't really go with my shoes, so that went away. The blazer is more just in case my office is unbearably cold.  Hopefully I can use my space heater and not have to wear it.

So here I am!  Today's outfit:

Green Skirt: Hand-me-down from co-worker

T-Shirt: Gift from another co-worker

Tan Blazer: Thrifted (Goodwill Boutique, I think)

Nude Kitten Heels: Target

Pink Necklace and Earrings: Beya

Daily MelWear: Slacking in Slacks

I am just not feelin' it lately.  These gray pants are the most comfortable that I own and I wanted to be comfortable today.  Threw on a tank, layered a cardi over top and BAM! I'm done.  Then I thought, should I keep the tank untucked?  Should I button the cardi? Should I add a belt?

Nah.

Not the greatest ensemble but it's physically comfortable.

Besides, all I really want to do is go to sleep.  Not sure they'd appreciate that at work, though.

{I'm sorry for being such a downer lately.  I promise to try to be more cheerful in future posts!}

Gray Pants: Charlotte Russe (pre-pregnancy)

Black Tank: Target

Pink Leopard Cardigan: Wal-Mart (clearance)

Daily MelWear: Monday's Dress

I love this dress.  It's only the second time that I've worn it, but I loved it when I first saw it, I loved it the first time I wore it, and I love it today.  It makes me feel good.

Last time I paired it with blue; this time I decided to go for purple.  The neckline is really pretty so I didn't wear a necklace, only earrings, and I didn't want to wear my black pumps so I opted for my silver heels.  Yay!

I've liked the pictures outside the past couple times but we discovered that some wasps are building a nest out there, so I think we're going back inside until that nest is gone.  Buh-bye, pretty outdoor pictures...
