Daily MelWear: BBCA Day 8

I almost didn't get to blog today. Blogging Fridays - Sundays is harder for me because I'm not at work so my routine is different.  Not to mention that this morning, we had something to take care of that weighed heavily on my mind. Now that part is over. We have a few more hurdles in the next few weeks before our new normal begins.

Whew. Anyway.

This skirt is a tad bit too snug, so I can't wear it to work because it ends up being too high on my waist and therefore too short. I love it though.  Hopefully I can lose a few pounds so it fits better! {NOTE: I'm typing this while shoveling a chocolate chip cookie into my mouth.}

I was going to to pair it with a purple tee but then decided to pull out the yellow instead. Black cardigan and belt - voila! I threw in some more pink with the necklace and earrings. I like it.

Hope you're all having a great Friday.  I'm off to run some errands and probably won't get to do my Friend Friday post this week. I feel so out of touch lately!

Today's outfit:
Floral Skirt: Plato's Closet
Yellow Tank: Plato's Closet
Black Cardigan: Ross
Black Belt: Kohl's (came with a different shirt)
Black Flats: Target
Pink Necklace/Earrings: Beya

Daily MelWear: BBCA Day 7

Hi friends!

How was your evening? I went over to my parents' house because my brother and sister-in-law were there with their 5-month-old baby boy - it was the first time I've met him! He is SO stinkin' cute and it was a lot of fun watching my daughter play with him.  A little nerve-wracking because she still doesn't quite grasp the concept of personal space and babies being smaller and more fragile than her, but it was still fun.

Tonight I'm going back over there for dinner and hopefully my brother and sister-in-law will be back from the day's activities by then. If not, at least the baby will still be there with my parents. :)

I feel like I have more pink tops than I thought I did, which is good for this challenge, but it makes me think that most of my outfits have looked too much alike (dark on the bottom, pink on top) and I've been rather boring. Sorry about that! I'm going to try to hit Salvation Army this weekend and see if I can find some good stuff.

I'm sure some people who see me in real life think I'm insane for wearing a long-sleeved cardigan and knee-high boots when the high is 80-something. However...when I left the house it was 59 and when I came into the office, our thermometer said it was 68. That's COLD to this Florida girl!

I want to thank those of you who have expressed interest in sharing your story as part of the Blogging for Breast Cancer aWEARness Challenge.  If you would be willing to share yours, please let me know by emailing me at {aworkingmomscloset at gmail dot com}.  I'd really like to start incorporating some blogger highlights in an effort to bring more attention to breast cancer awareness, detection, prevention, treatment and support (please know that it doesn't have to be limited to breast cancer). Your story could save someone's life.

Hope you all have a great day!

Today's outfit:
Black Dress: Plato's Closet
Pink Leopard Cardigan: Wal-Mart
Black Belt: Salvation Army
Black Knee-High Boots: Some place at an outlet mall years ago
Green Necklace: Beya

Daily MelWear: BBCA Day 6

You guys. I have almost 700 unread blog posts.  And I have no idea when I'm going to get a chance to read even a single one of them. Never mind the 50+ that will be posted today! I'm swimming over here, people. That number stresses me out.

On another note, I've come to the realization that I will need to add a slip to my list of fall clothing needs.  The riding up of my dress against these tights isn't so much fun. And the day has barely started.

But look! Tights! Booties! Because the high is only 82 today!

Yes, that's still incredibly hot but the only time I'm really outside is in the morning when I walk into my office (it's in the 60's now) and then at night when I walk out to my car (it'll be in the 70's at that point). I won't even see the 80 degree temps. Unless I run an errand to another department.  But whatever.

This is one of the dresses that I found at Ross last weekend.  If I wear it on a night out, I probably wouldn't put the tank underneath but for work, yes please. I like the teal with the deep pink, too. You know what this outfit needs? Leopard booties. Oh yes. And another item is placed on the fall shopping list.

Now let's talk about the Blogging for Breast Cancer aWEARness Challenge. How are you all doing? Are you enjoying it? Has anyone asked why you're wearing so much pink these days so that you're able to share awareness with them?

IMPORTANT - I would really like to add a feature to this month's challenge where some of the participants share their stories about cancer and awareness. I don't know which of you have a story (or stories) to tell and I don't know which of you would be willing to share publicly, so I'm asking that if you'd be willing, please contact me as soon as possible. It's so important to share what we've learned through experience. You never know if your story might enlighten someone else and save someone's life. Email me at {aworkingmomscloset at gmail dot com} with a little recap of your story and your blog address if you have a blog.

Thank you for reading! You guys are so awesome. Hope you have a great Wednesday! {Speaking of Wednesday, did any of you spoil yourselves yesterday like you were supposed to? If so, tell me how! My co-worker brought in Peanut Butter and Jelly cupcakes and Pumpkin Cream Cheese cupcakes - that's how I was spoiled!}

Today's outfit:
Pink/Black Dress: Ross
Teal Tank: Plato's Closet
Black Tights: I have no idea, I didn't even realize I had a pair of tights
Black Booties: Payless (last year...or the year before...)
Black Necklace: Wal-Mart

Daily MelWear: BBCA Day 5

And...Tuesday. Poor Tuesday.  No one really cares about Tuesday.  Everyone hates Monday, so Monday gets some attention. Wednesday is the mid-way point so everyone starts getting happy.  Thursday means TOMORROW IS FRIDAY and everyone is all excited about that. Then Friday...well that's just self-explanatory.

But poor Tuesday never gets any attention. We should start some kind of campaign for Tuesday attention.

Wow, I think I need more sleep.

So here's today's pink, in the tee. You guys are going to start getting tired of my pink things because I've about worn them all at this point. Except for the two new dresses I found at Ross.  And I'm going to try to hit Salvation Army this weekend.

It seems like those of you who are participating are doing a really good job so far! I haven't been able to visit everyone's blogs yet, I've only had a few moments to read a few posts, but so far you're doing great. Don't worry about it if you forgot a few days or haven't started yet, you can start in the middle of the month and only do a week, if you want. Whatever works for you to bring awareness to the cause.

Some of you have left comments with questions. I'd love to respond to every single idea and question, but that's hard to do through comments if Blogger doesn't have your email for me to reply directly to you.  If you have something specific to suggest or if you have a question for me, please don't hesitate to also email me directly at {aworkingmomscloset at gmail dot com} or use my Formspring too (there's also a box in the sidebar).

And while we're talking about connecting, don't forget to connect with me on Facebook and Twitter, too!

Have a great day everyone - show Tuesday some love! (And by that, I mean treat yourself to some chocolate, ice cream, a pumpkin latte, etc. Tuesday loves it when you spoil yourself.)

Today's outfit:
Pink Tee: Target
Floral Skirt: Target
Nude Snakeskin Pumps: Payless
Brown Snakeskin Belt: Salvation Army
Brown Necklace: Bridesmaid gift from my super special friend Amy whom I miss a whole lot!

Daily MelWear: BBCA Day 4

The Bible says joy comes in the morning.  And while I do believe the Bible to be the end all, be all of knowledge, wisdom and answers, I'm beginning to think that verse is meant figuratively.  Because morning seems to be the most difficult time of day right now.

Anyway - I've been doing okay with the challenge so far but I did go to Ross to look for more pink things. Where is all the pink? I guess it's not really a fall color. No shoes. I did find one belt but the snaps wouldn't fit together to snap closed, it's like they were two different sizes. Weird. Found a cardigan but it was $25 and I don't want to pay that much for a cardigan from Ross.  I don't really want to pay that much for a cardigan at all.  I did buy two dresses, one casual and the other more professional. I have to wash all of my clothes before I wear them (please tell me I'm not the only one) so they're in the hamper for the next laundry day.

When I wrote the Friend Friday post about fashion do's and don't's, I wish I'd remembered to add that one trend I used to think was a don't that I utilize now is mixing different shades of the same color.  Like pink and red.  I really like them together! I used to think that if they didn't match, they didn't belong together. But now...now I have a new view. And I like it. Then I threw on the leopard heels for a little more fun.

Hope you all had a great weekend and are ready for the week ahead.  I can't wait to see all of your pink!

Today's outfit:
Pink Blouse: Dots
Red Belt: Salvation Army
Black Skirt: Probably Ross but it's probably a decade old and I can't remember
Leopard Heels: Payless
Bracelet: Gift from ML

{I'm still really behind in reading and commenting.  There are lots of personal things happening right now.  I apologize for not commenting on your blogs lately and for not responding to your comments as diligently as I wish I could. I'm considering trying to read the most recent posts first just to see what you're up to now and then go back through the older posts later, so if I do comment and ask about something you mentioned in an earlier post, I'm sorry!  There is a lot of transition and change and chaos in my life, it'll probably take me a few months to work through it all but I'm trying to keep up with the blog as much as possible. As soon as I'm able to share everything with you, I will. I don't know why I feel like I have to mention this and apologize in every post, but I do. Thanks for sticking with me!}
